Politicians need to be made more aware of the consequences of their actions, to remain far more in touch with the reality for most people & to take longer term view. And if that means that various political parties need to work together for the good of the people they allegedly represent, then that is all to the good.
Since that is after all, their job
Perhaps we could actually do the logical thing & start at the beginning. Help parents to parent well, make sure no one in this country struggles to feed their family.
Teach kids empathy right through their school years
Teach high school kids basic budgeting, gardening, cooking & parenting. Help those whith ADHD, & their families. Build good quality houses, & end homelessness.
It wasn't always like this; it does not have to be like this.

in order to be old & wise, you must first be young & stupid. (I'm still working on that.)
