My Mum always used to fill the punch bowl with her home made ginger beer on New Year’s Eve and add sliced citrus and strawberries - we would each get one of the posh glasses reserved for the occasion and a fancy plate with haggis fritters - my Dad would play the bagpipes and Mum would toast us all with what I have subsequently found out is an Irish poem which I am wishing for you all
May you blessings be more and your troubles less and nothing but happiness come through your door
What a terrible start to the year it has been -when I first heard the news I thought it would have been a teenager making a really stupid decision but the perpetrator being a grown man makes it even worse .Then the news broke yet another baby has been murdered - third in three months - I hope Turiana didn’t hear the news - she was still very active in fighting to get the law changed around custody - she will be sorely missed
Popeye have you ever considered baking and selling it - a young widow we helped last year sold ten lemon meringue pies for $50 each - and 1000 chocolate eclair cases un filled for $4.50each - she bought all the eggs cheap Robies birthday special 20 eggs for $3.99 - so she made the eclairs for 90c each - she could have sold more - she was very judicious an order wasn’t an order until the money went into her account
She is taking her children on their first holiday since their father was killed .
I have been given a heap of beetroot - the long type some of them are as big as those Japanese radish - not sure if they will be worth bottling - any thoughts ?
One of my granddaughters surprised us all announcing her engagement - very pleased - they were Uni flat mates - I always liked him as he had good manners and he automatically picked up after himself - never just dumped his dishes on the bench like many of the other make flatmates did - both went in different directions after they graduated until they were on opposing sides in a courtroom last year - she lost and he sent her flowers and that was the beginning of what I hope will be a wonderful romance
Going for a walk in the reserve it’s so humid
May you blessings be more and your troubles less and nothing but happiness come through your door
