My Tatty is one of those quiet beasties whose hobbies consist of sleeping in as many places as possible. One of my neighbours has a cat who hunts and she is always moaning about corpses and feathers while envying my passed out furbaby, who really is the calmest quietest companion I have ever had. Always close, usually asleep nearby enough for a quiet stroke. A good choice for an old lady, lol.
I came across an archive entry for a great uncle last night which gave such glorious detail about his short life it had to have come from a close family member, a really neat accidental find that will go straight into the family history I am typing up. I had spent the afternoon cleaning the sticky keys of the latest typewriter addition to the collection and fitting a new ribbon - she types beautifully now, not a single issue with this pretty little machine. So maybe the universe had spotted my diligence and decided to reward me with a nice chunk of already completed research. There was a rather lovely head shot too of my Victorian grandfather, complete with his little round specs that brought back a flood of memories, he was a teacher at Grammar for 25 years and raised me like one of his pupils, sternly and diligent with academic challenge. He's to blame for me being a nerd...
And I vacuumed, and mopped the vinyl floors, so it was a very productive day yesterday.
