Well, I listed them and sold them to the Mum of a young man who was learning to fly fish with his grandfather. When they came to collect I met him and could see he was someone my husband would have liked. An earnest young man but excited by the all those feathery things on hooks. So I was happy to hand them over.
This evening I got an email from him with a photo of him holding his first fish, a nice wee rainbow, and the grin on his face said it all. Those flies still work it seems. Isn't that such a lovely thing for him to do?
That was very thoughtful; they went to the right home.

I too believe your Husband will be guiding this young man.. What a lovely way to encourage the future generation.
Mum Passed last night at 7-30 PM.. Peacefully with her girls with her.. I was talking to David at the time. I decided to go up and check on Colleen and Annie last night as they were quite upset. They were ok and then I went in and sat with Mum for a while.
The girls dressed her in white. She was cool but the purple had gone. The Biggest honor for me was that they put the head bands and the Magnolia earrings on that I had given her.. She is also holding a part of the shirt Adam, Dianne's son died in, in her hands.
No Dr on call to do the final parts.. isn't that typical. So they are coming this morning.. I will go up. But will leave the girls to themselves for a while. They haven't had time alone with Mum yet. But Ill be there if they need me.
Hopefully Tania one of the best carers there will see Mum before she is moved. She loved Mum as much as we did. She said they are told not to get attached, but that was impossible with Mum.
Our Matriarch may be gone but will never be forgotten that's for sure. She showed me what a Real Mother is like.. Caring, loving and I Never heard a cross word from her. The only thing she did, of which David will never know, if he was going on at her about eating or just being his typical drunk self she would close her eyes and pretend she was asleep so he would shut up. lol
Rest in Peace Irene Roff. Run through the fields with your grandson. Fly free and Don't forget to wave. Visit the Queen now Mum.
Perhaps the best ending Popeye, you'll miss her no doubt.

I've finished the lid insert for the mahogany box MrK is going to make for me. It's a crewel pattern but I don't have heavy enough fabric to stitch it with the crewel wool so used my regular floss instead. Am quite happy with how it turned out.
KM, that is absolutely beautiful, lovely work.

in order to be old & wise, you must first be young & stupid. (I'm still working on that.)
