The state of our health system, and NZ in general
#5
Nordic countries have a system which is a mixture of socialism, & capitalism. Their high taxes cover education, health, social welfare etc. etc. & their popualtion consistently features at the top of the 'happiest people' surveys. No system is perfect but theirs is pretty good & I wonder if they're the happiest due to the removal of the constant stress of having to provide healthcare, education etc etc.

You'd think that other countries might follow suit as far as possible; you'd think that politicans - who are after all, elected to do their best for all their people might just change their ways.
Developing a social conscience might be a good start...
in order to be old & wise, you must first be young & stupid. (I'm still working on that.)
