My bff is raising her grandson, she had to fight for custody. His parents are in his life and complicating things for her, and for him, it is not an easy road, that's for sure. Super hero grandparents, they make our lives look so much simpler.

I had a long instagram conversation with my offspring last night with photos of bits of their new home. She is planning her vegie garden and wanted some input. Plus chooks for blue eggs, and companion planting, and the news they now have five cats having adopted another couple of sad ones. Just as well it is a big house, they are indoor beasts. I suggested they might raise a piglet with such a nice big garden, but the idea of home grown ham for Christmas caused faux outrage, lol...

Re the piglet, the usual problem would arise which is why you should never give your food names. We have a bottle fed lamb that still thinks she is more 'special' than the rest of the flock. 'Lamby' is quiet and addicted to stock pellets which makes shifting the flock super easy with her doing her best to get her head in the bucket and leading the rest of the flock. Between her nature and having a name she's not going to become sausages any time soon.
