Taking a slightly different view, it may be that the Trump creature has (accidentally) done both Ukraine & the rest of the world a favour in making it crystal clear that he & America cannot now be depended on for supporting Ukraine, & it may be up to Europe & the rest of the world to help.

No. I cannot agree with hiding from a bully. I was raised by a soldier who in his turn was raised by another, both active warriors who put their lives on the line to stop bullies, who killed to stop bullies. I cannot bow my head and hope I am not noticed so our economy doesn't suffer. For me that is rank cowardice and the thought of it just repulses me.

This is the kind of thinking that got the United States exactly where they are. That kind of thinking will keep them there. That is putting money ahead of people's lives.

I sometimes think that it might not be a bad move for most countries to be as self sufficient as possible, at least as far as we can.
