Gaming system upgrade
#2
Too late to answer now ? Why intel, for gaming AMD is better for the price, runs cooler, uses less power, and is very stable. Intel has had issues with the 13th and 14th gen CPUs that make me a bit wary.

That said any i7 from 12th gen onwards or any ryzen 7 7xxx or 9xxx will game very well. The intel chips have a productivity edge but gaming wise there's not much in it.

i9 and ryzen 9 are total overkill for gaming and not worth it IMHO.
Motherboard - Asus, Gigbyte, MSI - compatible socket, however many M'2 slots you want, can't really go wrong as long as you match the socket to the CPU
RAM - 32GB DDR5 6000 or similar, 16GB is still enough but barely and it's starting to not be with the latest titles.

I just built mine, ryzen 7700X (2nd hand due to budget) Asus B650M-E, Gskill DDR5 6000, had some issues but fingers crossed all sorted now. I game at 1440P 32" 120fps mostly.

Edit: get RAM that's on the motherboard QVL support list from their website if possible. I copy paste the part numbers into PBtechs search function myself.
