Microsoft has fouled out again.

updates failing to install is generally software related, so replacing the mobo is unlikely to make any difference. On the very rare occasion security software can interfere with an update but that is usually the feature updates...

If I was you i would just suspend updates for a month and let MS have some time to sort the bugs out on other users. It is not unusual that an update won't install the first time around especially when it has only just been released, but it will generally get them installed on its own eventually.

I only get worried about updates when i see a string of installation failures in the update history
This world would be a perfect place if it wasn't for the people.
