What you are describing is communism, labour and especially the greens fit this definition very well.

Obviously it must be a very fine line between communism and promoting change for the good of society...

You do seem to be somewhat obssessed with communism. And according to your view, it seems to be virtually everywhere,  I wonder what your view is on those Nordic countries which have a system of socialism & capitalism, & have done for decades. Those countries where they have high taxes which cover things like education & health.
And which consistently also have the happiest people...
