I second that Jan, about popeye dealing to the landlord. Better to just obey the rules and minimise the stress especially with the move. As tempting as it is to assert our rights the fallout always means we tenants are on a losing game.
As for supermarket prices, that was my first thought too Jan. Our local New World is known for its fabulous staff, but we know to be wary of the fruit and veg because he is forced to buy in tier two produce. The monster P'n S a few kays down the round has exceptional quality produce at great prices, but thosr of us who can't access that place have no alternative but to get the lower quality at pricier rates. But his meat bargains are great, especially if we shop on a Wednesday, after super Tuesday has run its course and the prices go down lol. I loved the lamb contract failures, hadn't had roast lamb for years till they hit the shelves. More please!
As for the political beat up over supermarkets, Willis is also on a dead horse with that one. If there was room in the market another operator would be here already, our market is just too small and too far away from international warehousing. But there's nothing stopping us from shopping independent, so long as we can afford it. And maybe the new Don't Buy American campaign can help with that. Maybe we'll develop a taste for Italian made passata instead of Heinz...
