Was your tutors name Steve?
I hardly ever use it but sometimes alter photos or pictures.
Did you learn Macromedia Freehand as well as part of the course?
Mostly I use this program to alter resolution and sizes plus simple operations as it is easier to use than Photoshop.

You have to decide which version you want 32 or 64 bit, 32 bit will be fine and also you will need the Plugins.
All for free and works really well no ride along virus or any other drawbacks, I, and many others have used it for years.
Now that I think about it, I'm sure there were two computer graphics course run by the Sallies, one on Moorhouse ave & the one I did, & I'm sure they were both going at the same time so the subject must have been very popular.
As I said, can't remember the name of the street ours was in but it was down towards Fitzgerald ave end.
