That once again confirms it - humans are indeed idiots.

How our species has survived this long is a thing of wonder....

The term 'idiot' is applicable only to humans, and not other species, so it is more correct to claim some humans are idiots. Our species has evolved and survived so far by the less idiotic of us making technological advancements which the rest of our population benefits from. The wisdom in some of those advances in technology may well be questionable in some cases but that's a whole different discussion.
