The crunch is coming soon, apparently the goods imported from China are well down and soon shortages will start to appear much worse than happened in America in Covid time.
As to the blackouts, apparently there's a theory that it's due to too little real inertia in the generating system due to reducing the amount of turbines and increasing modern green generation causing much faster reactions to system changes causing large oscillations and overshoots in voltages causing compensatory switch offs in the system which then cause drops in voltage which means there are power shortages which lead to blackouts.

It's not the least charm of a theory that it is refutable. The hundred-times-refuted theory of "free will" owes its persistence to this charm alone; some one is always appearing who feels himself strong enough to refute it - Friedrich Nietzsche
