I think I agree with the forecasters who think this is part of the decline of the American empire. All he is doing is strengthening the Brics countries, China is already a bigger economy and a stronger force in the wider world community. Their military build up is challenging the US position and their positioning alongside Russia and North Korea means any attempt to protect Taiwan or South Korea is really a foregone conclusion. The America first policy means America alone, and it may well be too late to recover from that international shift. Who would trust America again after the last few months?

It is sad really, most Americans do not deserve the future they are being served up. But the reality is, that future really is up to them, because while they pay lip service to having three branches of government, none of them seem capable of reining this insanity in.
