Yep, tough decisions for greater good. You cannot create global pandemic policy based on the needs of the few, relatively speaking.

The analogy I envisage is that in order to prevent a ship from potential inundation/sinking bulkhead doors are closed to isolate affected areas/decks. Some passengers are on the 'wrong' side of those doors when the decision is made and likely perish but the ship stays afloat.

That is the situation that prompted the Labour government as COVID loomed. It was an unprecedented situation and tough decisions were made for the greater good. Griping about the issues faced by those adversely affected by that decision is essentially placing personal circumstances above the national good which is in essence selfishness, and directing hate and vitriol at the 'captain' of that ship is just targeting that person as a scapegoat for the misfortune of those adversely affected.
