That really is a strangely warped view. But not uncommon among those who tend towards the right politically.
From what I've seen it does tend to mostly be right leaning voters who will use especially ugly terms to describe political opponents, & especially if they happen to be women.
Which isn't to say that left leaning people don't also do so, but from what I've seen,just not to the same extent.
