Why should they though?  I'm pretty damned sure any delays introduced by last minute voter registrations will be dwarfed by prolonged coalition negotiations

There's also the delay related to collecting and counting 90,000+ overseas votes. Those seem to be managed okay so what exactly is the problem for a few late enrolling NZ voters?

It gives this govt an opportunity to chance their arm by trying to make changes. Which will be in their favour...
