I have flowers on my strawberries, some have pinked up so the bees have found them, but no edibles yet. The broccoli though and rainbow chard is going gangbusters.
I had fun yesterday, researching techniques for recolouring the felt hat, and finally decided on using a diluted and amended acrylic paint solution as the first trial. It seemed to work but needed overnight tine to dry so this morning as the kettle boiled I was poking and prodding to check if the colour was stable, and wouldn't come off as I wore it. Success! So another layer I think to even out any missed bits and then I can do the interior of the brim. Then, the fun stuff with the band and the decorations. I have a bunch of antique silk and velvet violets which might be a possibility, or a new bunch of soft lavender silk peonies which are a fabulous colour, or I could just make something myself - but I need the recolouring done and dusted first. So patience - not my strong suit - is required.
Meantime, my sweet Tatty cat has another episode of pain and loss of leg function and is hiding under the bed, sleeping it off I hope. I managed to get her to eat a few mouthfuls in the small hours when I heard her going to the litter box, but any attempt to lift her is met with too much distress. I wish the vets had been able to come up with a better diagnosis, but going on past episodes with a couple of days rest the symptoms will fade and she will come right. Not being able to help her is very hard, poor little girl.
