The fastest multiplying cells in our bodies are normally hair follicles and our gut lining so those are the areas most adversely affected by chemo treatments. To put a positive spin on it if you're experiencing hair loss and gut issues it is confirmation the chemo is working as intended, and yes the anti-nausea meds they dispense these days make the process far more tolerable than it was a few decades back.
