I broke my el cheapo wheeled writing table the other day. It has a wide cross brace that screws to the two metal D shaped legs, made of very soft particle board, which gave way. I had overloaded it too with my library books so my fault. Today I scooted down to the hardware shop and picked up a shelf which was a tad long but otherwise fitted fine, screwed it back into the legs then put the top back on original screw holes on one side, and jerry fitted the other side with one screw. Feels pretty stable to me. This is why I have 'carpenter' on my c v. Small c though, lol.
It is very satisfying though to fix something without asking for help, especially when that something is so very useful, and I did miss it for those few days when it was in pieces!
And the tank arrived today, oh it is so tempting to think about putting fish in it - but I will try to resist. Uh huh...
