Our two. The tabby is Billie. 8 years old and has survived two other tabby males who were killed on the road near our property. She is a keen hunter of rabbits, rats and eels. Despite devouring entire rabbits and the small eels she catches she remains trim and lithe. Yet to find where she catches the eels but suspect they venture onto pasture from the stream that borders us. Black one is Grace (after Grace Jones, a skinny black female), who is 4 YO. Her food must be minced and raw, apart from her bedtime biscuit treats. She regards Billie's eating of wildlife with disdain and her only prey is the very occasional 'tag and release indoors' mouse and the odd waxeye or fantail that I usually promptly take off of her and set free. Billie tolerates Grace and seemed to catch mice for her when Grace was young but that's when the indoor release started. All of our cats are/were rescue cats and desexed. Grace was a planned choice to avoid a repeat of males and/or tabbies wandering the 300m to the SH near us. Our 2 ha rural property must be cat heaven for them.
