I use a kantha quilt in the summer, just two fabrics laid together with lengthwise close lines of running stitches holding then together, no batting no fill of any kind.. Perfect for summer nights, and so pretty to use, and easy to make. Maybe that's a solution for these donations Mica.
I have a nominated next of kin, a good friend with a medical background who acts as my advocate when necessary. It is a comfort knowing she will step in if needed. And it is a hell of a responsibility as I know from taking that role myself for others more than once, but a huge gift we can give each other...

Yesterday the rest home cat visited MrK and I was able to lift her up for him to give her a good pat and scratch behind her ears. He had a huge smile on his face, and she purred so loudly the nurse walking passed his room could hear her. It's the little things in life
I have finished some of the admin needing to be done. I need to ask the admin officer at Pohlen not to have MrK sign anything as he can't remember what he is signing. She had nurses ask him to sign something the other day. I'll show her the EPOA and ask for any admin to be directed to me.As I said to MrK, we paid good $$$ for that bit of paper so we are going to use it. And the nurses who were charged with asking him to sign had no idea either what it was all about. On top of that, it's not their job to ask him. Did you know, the secondary person for your EPOA is not allowed to live with you and preferably live out of the area. This stems from the Christchurch earthquakes when rescuers were finding it hard to find people and often whole families were trapped.
I'll finish the admin this morning and work a bit more in the garden before calling in to see MrK. I have his favourite, fresh pineapple, for him to munch on today.
have a good one
