Our environmental vandal government
#21
He doesn't have any coherent answers, he's just addicted to gathering money and by involving himself in that activity enough that he can avoid thinking at a deeper level and see that something has to be done to avoid disaster by continuing in the way the world has been acting. If everybody did and behaved like he is doing then for sure we are in a losing game, especially since as he has told us there is no benevolent god looking after our welfare and that of the ecosystem.

He thinks it's so clever to have found this simple answer to life in general (chase money and buy things) and doesn't seem to realize that this is what people have been doing since the beginning of civilization which has led us to this catastrophic point which is now looming with seemingly no solution. If everyone plays the game as he suggests then disaster will happen even sooner.

At the end of it all when disaster is at our doorstep he will be one of the ones saying "but why didn't someone tell me/us". These people just want to carry on in the way that has already set us up for disaster because they are unable to do much and as I fear are already set on a course ala 2025 of gathering the remaining wealth and setting up refuges to weather the storm.
It's not the least charm of a theory that it is refutable. The hundred-times-refuted theory of "free will" owes its persistence to this charm alone; some one is always appearing who feels himself strong enough to refute it - Friedrich Nietzsche
