I have payment instructions ready to go but don't send them automatically because I like to adjust the blurb according to the sale. For instance, there are sentences specific to courier items and perhaps the sale is post bag. I also remind buyers in the instructions to remember to send their address and sometimes that has already been done - I was once shouted at (lots of exclamation points) by a buyer who had already sent their address. Can't win. Sometimes it's a combined sale and the final total and shipping has to be encapsulated within one email.
If it's a buyer with dodgy feedback, a repeat rural dodger for instance, I will ask for the address before sending payment info because, quite frankly, I would rather forgo the sale than receive short-changed payment and then waste time with an intractable buyer.
