Good morning.

It's wet and windy ... not cold at least.

Healing vibes to Mr K ... hopefully the needed surgery happens quickly. Yes KM being assertive and armed with some paperwork should help  Smile

Traction would be a good body stretching relief method. I remember seeing an inversion device you could buy years ago ... I see still available, lol.

Another inside day ... the 2nd half I will have the GC for "entertainment". Hopefully there will be a break in the weather to get outside and stretch the legs.

Enjoying knitting with a new vest pattern ... a useful one from babe to 10 yo. Also have a good Ann Patchett book on the go.

Stay warm and dry all.

Morning everyone

Wet but not cold yay.. yesterday was a shocker heatwise or lack there of.

I feel your going through what I went through Kiwimade. But hopefully MrK isnt nasty like MrP was. I know Waikato has the best heart surgeons. My brother and sister in law live in Waverly, down near Wanganui but when it comes to their hearts they are flown to Waikato.

Hope all goes well.. I was in the Cardio Thoracic ward in the early 90s, older building it was but they were great.

Home for me today, Ill shop on my way home tomorrow. Will put rice on.. Ive missed it lol.. and generally have a lazy day.

Stay dry all

Hope all goes well for Mr KM & the results are all that you want them to be. Another couple of months & it'll be spring, & that usually lifts the spirits. Glad the yoga's helping the back Hunni.

Miserable rainy day, even Madame le Cat has settled indoors after a swift venturing out earlier, very unusual for her. Slighty concerned for the Nelson lot but apparently more trenches have been dug (he's a good lad that new boyfriend) according to youngest Granddaughter & her Mum's OK too so fingers crossed it doesn't get too bad there.
Made some corn fritters earlier, something I haven't done for ages so will freze some if they're OK.

Mmmm, now there's a good idea for my dinner - fritters! And I have mussels. Yum...

Perfect for a rainy day.

Or I could just have a bacon sandwich...

And I've just put a gigantic spud in the oven to stuff later, once its cooked & will do one of those veg sausages i like as well. Sweetie darling no. 2 made some tomato pickle which is really nice so that'll do nicely for both sausage & fritters.

It must be really cold, Madame le Cat is in the kitchen not at all keen to go out again & claiming that its dinner time.
Rolleyes
It was blardy freezing when we did the short rainy day walk earlier.

MrK could be coming home tomorrow. It's not his heart, it's another health issue that goes back years. I left the hospital early as the weather warning was changing from yellow to orange. Boy, that wind was strong when driving home, especially on the expressway. It's like driving through a tunnel sometimes.

Not sure what I'll have for dinner, probably an egg on toast will do. And maybe some fruit, muesli and unsweetened yoghurt for later.

Mmmm it is really wet here, the rain coming towards my deck, the windows are getting washed but it is very drear. Depressing. I am glad I don't have to be out there, but I'm not in the mood for anything that requires moving. Breakfast for dinner has some appeal, porridge with crabapple jelly and yoghurt, that'd fill the spot, lol...

Not an inspiring day...

Glad you could have your man back tomorrow Kiwimade.

Its not cold here, its wet but not even much wind.. Its been nice being in doors painting all day..

APART from when my lunch ended up on the floor. And yes I brushed it off.

The Bulb blew in another lamp. So I put the lamp with the other two in the spare room, got the bulb out of the one in my room, got the hottie and blankets etc all in place, Dohhhh no lamp for the bulb..

Then I'd just got settled AGAIN and Madam puked up her biscuits she ate far to quickly, so I had to clean that up. But I got up soo quickly a tray of diamonds hit the floor. Must say they are easier to pick up off a wooden floor.

This was all inter woven with having to dislodge Madam and the blanket and hottie as well as the painting gear to stir the rice every hour for 3 hours..

I was ready to call it a Day and Madam told me someone was at the door.. no knocking.. And there was my new lappy. Thankfully wrapped in plastic as the rain is coming in the front porch.

So I plugged that in fingers crossed it will be all good.

I have an early start tomorrow I want to leave town by 7-30 at the latest, but I will be at the medlab before that. It's good knowing I dont have to rush home for the courier.

Im going to visit a couple of Papakura Oppies if I feel ok.. and its not too messy out there.

So now Ill do my games and watch the Bake off.. And I think Ill have a choccie fish

Morning Everyone

Yep still dark and early lol.. not cold by any means.

Off for my knee check, and then the day is mine.

Madam is certainly not happy about being shut out of the bedroom. But if I didn't she would hide under the bed and make me late. She has already voiced her opinion of being up Far to Early, loudly.

I plan on staying on the main road, and will avoid the Motorway.

Ohh Motorway, remember him from the TM MB's? Sadly he passed from his failing kidneys, and wouldn't take a live donation. I think of him often, his burnt meals served on Crown Lynn plates.. And his taking kids on his motorbike. It was his Daughter in laws Birthday yesterday.

Have a good day all

It is looking good out there, so I will get a few circuits of the village in today, bones permitting. I had a really good night thanks to the good drugs, actually slept right through with no pain or visiting cat interruptions so things are definitely on the improve. Amazing how much better a day looks with that kind of overnight rest...

That's good news KM, hope its less windy day for his homecoming.

Friday Funny this week has one of my favourites - the voice recognition elevator...in Scotland, absolutely love it.

Plus another of theirs, sarcasmaholics meeting & a Clarke & Dawes one (John Clarke aka Fred Dagg) on the English language in Australia.

Ventured out earlier due to it not raining...until I was approximately half way, dammit. And then they didn't have the bread I wanted, or the panadol so had to head to Chemist warehouse, where they did have it.
But where they also,( cleverly placed on the way to the checkout obviously,b'stards!) had some of those little soft toy wheatbag things I got for all the great grandad kids. With the exception of latest arrival, dammit. Will have to get her one soon, while they're till on special & put it away for her first birthday.

Managed to have the long morning out without rain until the minute I pulled into the driveway.

Dr Very pleased with my knee. Asked if I still have pain, and could I walk 20 meters lol.. I said yes to both, and Ive moved and got stairs etc.
He said he had to be honest he thought I might have come home and stopped... I was in better condition than he thought I would be.. he had seen me exercising my leg while sitting ion the High chair in the waiting room. Even shook my hand for proving him wrong lol

I said I have too much life to live yet, and told him about the next surgery he said that will make things even easier, I said Im already dangerous lol..

Went on an Oppie spree.. Salvation army in Papakura has turned into a mess, all over the place, not nice at all now. Went into the St Johns one there. Got a container for my diamond painting.. Papakura was dead, never seen it so quiet.

So came home via Pukekohe and did St Johns there, got a cookbook to match the Kenwood mixer.. And then I found where Habitat for Humanity had moved to and its nice in there. Got a single flat sheet and two pillow cases in the same red and white check of the queen one I have. $5 for the set and a new nice and heavy ice cream scoop.

Shopping done and time to rest the bones.

I got down to Devonport, libraried coffeed, and veg shopped and back before the weather changed, which was good. The bad bit was the air turning blue every time the scoot hit a bump. I have that back thing centred right over my left hip now which is good, but it doesn't like bumps, but hey, the fridge is full of gorgeous yummy things and I have a new JoJo Moyes novel to keep me quiet.

That rain is heavy out there. The air is full of that golden light that silver skies bring, and I am so glad I'm not out in it...

afternoon ladies Smile No rain today but it's coming, those big black clouds are back.

MrK is still in hospital still waiting for his warfarin levels to sort themselves out. They woke him at 2.00am to take blood for his INR test. We are assuming so the results would be in early for him to be discharged. But the level was waaaayy too low for that. I have a week long parking ticket, $7 to park at the hospital for a week. Saves $$$$ on the parking and it's for visitors to long term patients. And the hospital will arrange for someone to come and help MrK shower when he comes home so that will take some pressure off my shoulders.

I should be moving the mulch but don't have the oompph to do it today.

Oddly my INR keeps dropping, I reckon its all the red meat Ive been eating. So warfarin went up again today. test on Monday.

It will be good for someone to take the physical work away so you get to be the wife not the carer Kiwimade. It certainly is helpful to us.

The garden will wait, cant do it in the rain anyway.

How long does it take you to Waikato with the new road now?

It fined up a bit and I didn't shut the curtains until nearly 5pm tonight.. but the temp has dropped a bit.

Ohh Hunni I bet you felt every bump..Glad you got home dry tho.. Ohh I haven't read a JoJo Moyes for a while.. I need to go to the library.

Saw a cool 3 wheeler motorbike today, only little wheels, and a seat that wouldn't have been too comfy.. But it had some power cos when the guy took off it nearly lifted the front wheel.. BUT the silly old bugger didn't have a helmet on.. I know you dont need them but this was a bike.

Im staying home now , nah well that went out the window, was going to say till shopping day next week but I have to do my bloods again. Maybe Ill go to the library that day, and maybe get some ice cream to go with the new scoop.
