You can never have enough...
morning ladies Smile It's a lovely cool start to the day. This morning I'm going to finish tidying up the bux hedge clippings from MrK's hedge cutting yesterday. By the time he was finished cutting, it was too hot to tidy up. I watered all the pots (not that many) before breakfast so can tick that off my to-do list.

What an awesome neighbour you are, Jan. I would have appreciated that very much if it had been our garden. Like popeye, I've also bought in washing if it was going to rain. One time I was on my way home and there was no way my washing was going to stay dry, but I was passing a friend's home so bought hers in instead lol. At least one of us had dry washing!

I like Chris Hipkins and also hope he has a fair go at the top job. He's proven he can take the rubbish thrown at him. I would still like to know why they call him Chippy lol.

Better get cracking and enjoy the cool of the morning before the day becomes too hot.

Happy crafting Smile

Good morning.

Nice to see cloud cover this morning.  I guess it won't last.

A bit slow after an enjoyable night out but should make use of the cooler morning to get things done round here.

I'm guessing "Chipper" comes from CHris HIPkins  Wondering  Interesting times ahead with a new face at the helm.

You can be my neighbour any time Jan.

Cuppa finished.

Enjoy the day all.

Morning everyone

We had a little sleep in lol.. Still just eating breakfast.

I think it will stay fine. Need to water my geraniums too.

Im sitting here think do I be naughty or not. My electric knife has died. Seems to have jammed and won't hold the blades in. And Briscoes have a half-price sale. I supposedly have an appointment on the 27th according to my dr but haven't heard from the clinic. If the ladies had paid for the wool yesterday I would be at Briscoes already. But they will pay on payday lol.. Sale finishes today and I can't confirm the appointment until tomorrow lol.. ARGGHHH..lol.

Ill think about it for a while longer.. I will of course call before I think about leaving town no sense going over if they dont have any left lol

It was nice to sit and talk with like minded ladies and we have people in common too. Was the first time I had had people here since August, apart from the house inspection and odd pick ups lol.

Have a fab day everyone

Morning all - another nice warm day - I normally wouldn’t have hesitated about going on someone’s property but they are weird - never acknowledge anybody except to complain - but he spends such a lot of time in his beautiful garden no matter what an old curmudgeon he is would have been awful to return home to a disaster - the weather forecast was for rain rain and more rain so he would have gone off thinking he was safe
I wondered is he was called Chippie because he seems to smile so easily - he is one of those people whose smile includes his eyes
Very pleased with progress with my blanket - the turquoise looks great amongst the greys and black and white
Popeye 50% at Briscoes across the entire store is a good sale - normally they mark down specific ranges - check your knife isn’t cheaper somewhere else though I was going to get a new bamboo steamer but The Warehouse are cheaper than Briscoes half price and I see in the Briscoes product review theirs drop to bits
Did you get some fruit Venetian

Yeah I looked the other day at other shops prices, then saw the ad for Briscoes last night. So its a good deal.. As undecided as I am now, I know that later on Ill be annoyed with myself for not going too lol.

Just read the Reviews while I was waiting for them to answer the phone.

Not one good review. Add to the fact that my one died.

So Im not going to get one. Ill wait and get another brand at some stage. When I dont have to juggle the money

Ohh just saw the first Wax eye return.

Have missed the tiny visitors..Yay

of course, Roma! CHis HIPkins lol. Never thought of that!

I have moved a couple of pots that the mint was smothering. We have mint growing 'wild' by the pump shed. There was nothing growing in the pots so I have moved them beside the BBQ. I was thinking maybe some herbs would be useful there. We have two double concrete washing tubs full of herbs but a few by the BBQ could be handy. And they would make an interesting change from the usual petunias and the like.

MrK has decided (finally!) to build a box to store all the BBQ stuff like the smoker lid. I suggested he put wheels on it so it is easy to move, like a covered trolley. Big Grin

Speaking of pots - the freesias my old boy planted in a pot a couple of months before he passed have started growing again - they flowered very early in the spring so should be recuperating for months I thought -

lol Jan, the hoop daffs I have in pots have started sprouting too! Climate change is confusing the garden, I think.

Yes JanW I got some fruit the other day and went and got some more today to take to Wellington. There certainly isn’t as much as usual and it looks a bit battered but taste ok.

morning ladies Smile Another gorgeous day on the cards today.

lol Jan, you never know, he could have been! I need to thin out the bluebells so that will be another garden job. At least I will be working under a tree. I'm putting the spring bulbs into large pots so when they have finished, I can stash them at the back of the garden and leave the garden free to plant other things.

Today I am going to start on Qual v#2. I'm thinking if I make a start, I will be more enthusiastic in finishing it.

Happy crafting Smile

Good morning.

Another lovely day looming.  Not as hot yesterday which was much nicer to cope with.

Have had a bit of a dig in the garden this morning after spreading and watering in a bag of sheep pellets. Hopefully now not as attractive to the dogs one of which is visiting today!

A day with family here so nothing else planned.

Lol KM, I find this time of year hard to get to any hand craft, even if the best intention is there! My cross stitch still awaits!

Enjoy the day all.

Morning everyone

Looks lovely here too.

I will say its far nicer visiting this new home, they dont keep it like an oven. Windows and doors are opened. Makes such a difference when wearing masks.

Off to see MrP this morning. I have to figure out which of his many watches actually fits and get a new battery put in. So it will be a double visit. I sat and cleaned several yesterday.. His weight is up and down so much that its hard to keep up with them, and he's very rough on watches.

Other than that I dont really have any plans. The warmth got me on the weekend. Not as bad as it used to be but Summer is starting to bring me down.

Have a fab day everyone

MrK spilt his coffee on the white crochet tablecloth I made a few years ago this morning. Even after soaking the stain was still there. But it was a pretty shade of pale caramel so I've soaked the whole cloth in strong coffee for over an hour, rinsed it and hung it out to dry. With any luck I'll have a soft caramel coloured cloth instead of white Big Grin

Many accidents provide a creative  success Big Grin

I had an interesting morning, four bus rides, miles of corridors, four flights of stairs, and an interview with my favourite orthopedic surgeon, who tells me nothing I don't know about the second hip replacement I need urgently (to be done within the next few months). But he also pointed out that I am one of the very small percentage of metal on metal hip implant users who is still walking round on it with no real side effects, which is rather interesting. Seventeen years and counting. Pity they cannot put one of those into this other hip...  Big Grin

Bit of drizzle but not enough to count for much - when I was making cloth dolls I used to use coffee or tear bags to dye the mohair for their hair - I was heading for a weekend retreat to make a Jill Mass Olive a bathing beauty with knobbly knees and a saucy bikini - it took me ages to get the hair right wanted it to look like grey coming through a growing out hair dye - we had an open patio with a roof so put the hair on the outside table to dry - it disappeared - the house in front of us was one level down and had a huge walnut tree - I spied my hair hanging in the breeze - rang the old boy to come home as I had a disaster - he was not amused - he had to drop the ladder down into the neighbours then go round and knock on the door to retrieve a clump of mohair - loved going to her classes
My neighbours arrived home a little while ago - I left a note in their letterbox so they know it was me but I am not expecting any problems - yesterday was really hot his garden certainly wouldn’t have survived
Having a lazy day today my rural living son was hoping to come up but the child who has joined their family was the sole survivor of a car crash that took his entire family isn’t quite ready yet for a two hour trip

Had a horrible session on the phone.. cant be bothered with it now.

Took MrP's watches in to see how much a battery was. Only $10.. mind you I can buy new watches from China with free delivery for less.. but I then took the watches up to see which one he wanted and Ive had that done.

They had these very pretty summer dresses, with three layers of frills. so the money I had saved for my next appointment day out I got a white and a royal blue one.. Nice and cool and comfy looking.

Good thinking re the coffee Kiwimade.. Lol Jan, that be embarrassing lol.

Sometime mistakes & accidents can give good results KM, that was a fortunate one.
That sounds like a lot of stairs to be coping with Hunni; hope the surgery goes well when it finally happens.

No time to continue in garden this morning & too tired now, so maybe tomorrow.
in order to be old & wise, you must first be young & stupid. (I'm still working on that.)

The garden would have been smiling JanW having been watered even if the neighbours are the smiling type Big Grin

That’s a good save KM - hopefully you don’t have to make it darker too often lol.

It’s a beautiful warm evening in the capital. I’m here for a few days welcoming niece and family home and Have brought the things that they had stored with me back to them. They get in at 9pm so won’t be an early night as no doubt there will be quite a lot of catching up to be done.
