Recently friend was telling me about their granddaughter who was visiting and lost her first tooth and naturally was a bit worried that tooth fairy wouldn’t know to visit Nan’s place. The Nan rang the parent to find out the going rate for a tooth in their house and being a 2 income professional family it is $5 (seemed rather steep for Nan but never mind it was paid.
A couple of weeks later I had a dentist appointment for a tooth out which had to be done in 3 pieces so I asked the dentist if the going rate for the tooth fairy was $5 for one could I count this as 3 teeth and get $15 - he gave me a rather odd look before laughing. He offered me the pieces at the end but I declined with thanks I think the tooth fairy will have forgotten where to visit here many years ago

Woohoooo
I went to both Oppies this morning. I seldom go to the St Johns one cos they are normally very picky and over priced. But I found a lid for the second pink bowl. 50 Cents
Yay...
They told me I couldn't, so I did.!!

When my kid sister was in Oz waiting for her liver transplant all her teeth started to fall out - she had a good sense of humour and kept telling my boys she has stayed awake all night waiting for the tooth fairy - so I made her one

That tooth fairy is beautiful - if I knew that something as cute as this one would come I might have hung onto my manky old tooth

I've finished that book & really wishing I hadn't. Some of those stories have stayed with me, & I'm reluctant to start another book yet, but know I probably will. TM has some of her books so may eventually have to indulge.
But I bought a book the other day from Blackwell's, a UK site which like BD did, has free postage so will see how that goes & then check if they have her books. It was quite an easy site to use, so a good start.

I've started to order from Blackwells. So far the online ordering was seamless and my first delivery took about three weeks, which was what they predicted. Their prices are very good because of the free delivery.

morning ladies More rain!
I just love that tooth fairy, Jan She's gorgeous!
Thanks for the tip about using Blackwells for books I'll have a look at their site later today.
Today I'll be picking MrK's new reading glasses up from Spec Savers. $99 for eye test, frames and lenses so not too shabby.
Yesterday was pretty much spent taking our friend to Waikato hospital and while we were out and about, sorting his shopping and so on. I did spend about half an hour on my embroidery before I left and have the thrush's eye done. It looks a little weird with just an eye staring at me lol.
Better get moving, there are a few things to do before I leave for Tauranga. Am not looking forward to driving over the Kaimai Ranges today, it will be a very slow drive.
Happy crafting

Morning everyone
Tis chilly and Im on a go slow.
Oh Jan she is Beautiful.
Once the meds kick in I will be sewing my cushions cover, then Ill vacc the lounge and hall at least. They are annoying me. And since I sacked the maid Ill have to do it myself lol... I will say tho. Im a lot cleaner than what MrP was. I had to vacc in front of his chair daily. He's a very messy eater.
Spoke with the head Nurse yesterday. And we have decided the sandals I got him at the warehouse are much better than the orthotic ones. Didn't think to bring the others home, so will do that Tomorrow.
MrP was actually pleased I managed to find a lid for my bowl. He knows my love off Tupperware. I sold it for a while to be able to fill my pantry. Best investment I've ever made. And I enjoyed doing the parties etc. I would have considered doing it again now, if they hadn't have pulled out of NZ. Its over priced yes but also a good investment.
Ive been making lists for planning the garage sale. I want to buy some merino so the sale will pay for it .
Be careful on the roads Kiwimade.
Have a fab day everyone

That's good to know, they'll probably be my alternative to BD from now on then.

Cheers for the fairy compliments - she was cute - after my sisters teeth fell out her hair dropped out - lovely thick wavy auburn hair .After the transplant her hair grew back tight black curls - it was like lambs wool - she used to say they mucked up and gave her a sheep’s liver - the hospital said it was not abnormal after a transplant but she stuck to her story .A drunken driver killed her 15 years after her transplant

Afternoon
Fabulous clear sky sunn y day here the harbour is dead flat- beautiful.
Love the tooth fairy Jan sorry that your sister died in an accident.
Been to hairdresser and survived a different stylist cutting my hair boy he used a lot of product. My usual stylist was there today too intact she phoned me after seeing I was booked in. It seems I was not losing my mind and I did have an appointment last week but she was unwell and someone was supposed to reschedule all her appts. She was not best pleased. Anyway no use stressing about it thats my motto stress about stuff you can control saves alot of angst.
Popped in to my old work place and nipped out for coffee with a couple of my old colleagues. It was great to catch up.
My boss has just resigned so it was good to chat to him too.
Have sent DH off to hit golf balls while I get on with stuff at home
Enjoy your day

My sister had beautiful long straight blonde golden hair. When it grew back after chemo it was grey and curly. She didnt mind the colour but loved the curls.
Only one out of 5 of us got curls at the start and that's the Middle sibling.. A good sign that he would be different to the rest of us and he is.

morning ladies We have sunshine!
It's my turn to have my eyes checked While we were picking up MrK's glasses I commented to MrK I couldn't read what he was reading with his new glasses. The optician looked at me and said, shall I book you in? MrK quickly said yes lol before I could say no, I'm ok with my glasses. So, I have the appointment today and it's back over the Kaimai Ranges. The drive yesterday was pretty good, everyone was behaving, and the road was drying out. Lots of slips though.
I'm back to mowing the whole lawn as our neighbours are no longer using a lawn mowing contractor. Oh well, it was great while it lasted and we didn't expect to have it forever.
Better get the day started, my appointment is early

Morning everyone
I think its fine out there. lol
Off to the drs early today. And Im glad I had booked in cos my shoulder is giving me chit. Was reading up about getting arthritis in dislocated joints and that sounds like how it is. Although it certainly feels like the nerve is pinched to. So I will let him figure it out. The dislocation was from a fall in the bath. I know the date when it happened so ACC can deal with it, hopefully. But I know while I can mow the lawn, doing the vacuuming certainly isn't good for it. And simple things like going to pick something up, or even to brush a hair off my face . Cant change anything when it comes to meds and creams but I would like some help in the house. And it takes a lot for me to admit that.
That poor Kiwi in USA , Im like its nocturnal why the H*ll are you doing that.
Will come home after seeing the Dr then Cook popcorn and Tatties to take up to MrP. He was down last night. His really bad shakes have started again. I've always thought they were happening from his damaged spine, and since his last 3 falls have damaged it more, it is starting again. I think he also knew that for me to admit I need help with the floors and cleaning the bathrooms, he understands that I cant look after him.
Be careful on then roads again Kiwimade.
Have a fab day all
5 Drs have covid including possibly mine. So the appointment has been changed... Dam... I could have seen someone else but its not That urgent.. Oh well at least I wont have to run about

Good morning.
It's sunny but quite a cool wind out there.
Keeping busy with family around, and yesterday seemed to be in and out with dog groom, groceries, and a couple of appointments. Will be off later to watch a couple of GC on their Run Day.
We plan to go over the Kaimai Range on Saturday to catch up with family ... I hope we manage to catch a good weather day!
Loved your wee fairy Jan, you are very clever.
Trying to find time to complete the newborn cardi ... not easy with others around, especially when it's a pattern that needs a certain amount of concentration!
Have been hearing Covid is on the rampage again and in the local school currently. Good idea to avoid if at all possible!
Time for morning coffee.
Have a good day all.
