morning ladies A foggy start to the day but the sun is coming through.
Couldn't you boil and mash the kumera, popeye or is it too far gone.
MrK said he wants to take me to Cambridge today as he saw something I might like using in the garden and if I like it, then it can be my Christmas present.
I've watered the garden pots already as today it is meant to be hot and have a load of washing out. I love early starts to the day.
Happy crafting

Morning everyone
Foggy again. I think we have had more this year than many in the past. Not cold tho.
No it was too far gone Kiwimade, it was black and hairy. Just 24 hours and she was a gonna.
Ohhh I hope you have commented on something cool. What a lovely man you have.
I somehow managed to hang up on MrP last night. But I got the nurse to tell him I didn't know what happened and Id ring when I get home today. He spent quite a while in the wheelchair yesterday which is good. When they put him in it I thought well this will be interesting. In the times that we had him in his chair he wouldn't wheel himself.. so I sat and watched and yes they made him do it himself. I must get his chair out of the car. And I think its time I remove my winter wardrobe out too lol
Shopping today, Ill limit myself to just two shops. My knee locked twice yesterday so its a bit narly today. Ill ring the hospital again. The gang said yesterday I should tell them I have some family heritage in Maori or Pacific Islander and Id probably be done by now. Sadly Im starting to agree. But I wont .
Have a fab day everyone

Fog here too, it is lovely and quiet. A friend is coming over to do her grandson's online passport application and mail in the letterbox yesterday announces a tenancy check for tomorrow at 11am. Bugger it, I shall have to do housework instead of playing in the dirt.
Very annoying.

They did give the right notice, but because the letterboxes are up a hill I avoid walking up there unless it's rubbish day, or Wednesday scoot into the village day. My fault not theirs.
I do wish, however, that they'd get with the 21st C and use email, not a letterbox drop. Lots of us oldies are not into clearing the boxes daily.

Totally agree..... Mine comes via email.
Maybe they think the older person doesn't use the internet.
Ive lost track with what days are our mail days cos it seems to happen any day. So I dont check unless Im out there either lol

Have been out to meet new great grandson who is of course, gorgeous & has his Mum & Dad well trained already - & everyone else in the entire family. Not doing much at present apart from eating & sleeping but that's been sufficient to enslave his adoring fans.
in order to be old & wise, you must first be young & stupid. (I'm still working on that.)

awwww Lilith babies do tend to melt us
It was a hedge trimmer that can be converted to an edge trimmer and omggg it's a little beauty. Battery operated and I can use it one handed as it is so light. It is going to be used regularly as an edge trimmer and will be perfect for trimming up the espaliered camelias and other shrubs. There is an extension pole you can buy as well for reach (or to save my back) but that can wait. I was also eyeing up the battery pruner, it will be perfect as I won't have to ask MrK to crank up the chainsaw to cut smaller branches and then wait six months for him to do it. Birthday present maybe lol.

You need one of those pinboards with outlines drawn on it and significant dates chalked in...

morning ladies It's a bit overcast out there this morning, I suspect rain is on the way. But wow, we have had some lovely days.
Today I'm going to test drive the new trimmer MrK had a tutu with it yesterday and he loved it, said it was easy to use and maneuver and seeing as he has bad carpel tunnel, that's saying something. Housework first though or it just won't get done. And I'll work some more on the thrush later on. That's the 'plan', who knows if it will happen lol.
Happy crafting

Good morning.
It's overcast, as it was all day yesterday though there was enough breeze to mostly dry the washing. Maybe more chance of showers today.
What an extreme contrast of weather happening in the South Island, with flooding and wind fueled fires! Climate change is real. It's true, we gardeners definitely notice.
A day spent spring cleaning yesterday with some more finishing off to do today. A good feeling when it's done.
Yay to new garden toys KM. Nothing like powered to make the job easier. I wonder if there are electric secateurs, my most used tool
How lovely with a new great GC Lilith ... it's hard to imagine being a great grandie ... with a bit of luck we might get there!
Time to feed the pets and get moving.
Enjoy the day all.

Morning everyone
Wet here. And not cold.
I think I may have seen the gadget your talking about Kiwimade. The people that very kindly trimmed the trees for me had what looked like a mini chainsaw and had a long extension pole, it also ran the weed eater as well. Very handy for sure.
Off to do bloods and see MrP today. Will also take some stuff up to the kai cupboard at the junktion too. Stuff that I wont use.
Slept on my bed yay until 5am. Could barely move but went back to sleep in my chair after popping a pill so Im not too creaky today.
I really need to empty the vacuum bag, cant buy new ones, so I reuse what I have until they die lol. but a horrible messy job no matter how careful you are.
Have a fab day everyone

ugggg popeye. My old vacum is the same. I'm still looking for a new one that is affordable and easy to manage. I have $$$ put aside for it, just need to find one. I think we are pretty close to the Black Friday sales (end of October) so might hang on a bit longer until then. And I know what gadget you are talking about, our friend has one as well. This is just a straight hedge trimmer you can change the blade to make it an edge trimmer. It's not a chainsaw type thing. It can also be used on an extension pole.
Roma, I'm pretty sure I have seen battery secateurs or something similar but omg they look pretty lethal. I wouldn't want to put a finger in the wrong place, that's for sure.
Time to fight the vacum cleaner and vacum, then wash the floor.

Speak of the devil... checked my e mails after my last post here and lo and behold, there's an email from Harvey Norman telling me they have an Electrolux kitchen and laundry sale. Now you would think a vacum cleaner would come under 'laundry' but nope, it's a 'small appliance'. Really? Have they ever lugged a vacum cleaner around? Anyhoo, they had an Electrolux free standing vacum at a reasonable price so my vacum cleaner $$$ have been spent. Click and collect is a wonderful thing. Now... please... I am begging the appliance gods.... please, please, please.... NO MORE dead or dying appliances. This year has been beyond a joke.

I went a bit mad a few years back when my third cheap vac expired and Farmers had a sale on Bosch bagless beasties. Best buy I have ever made in the small appliance line, it is a perfect machine, except for the slide release button on the extending tubes. For some weird reason it works the opposite way to every other vac I have ever owned, and still catches me out when I want to go long to suck up the cobwebs. Expensive impulse buy at the time, but has paid for itself now.

This is replacing my old Tellus I have had for over 30 years. It's too expensive to replace parts and bags (if you can find them). MrK is going to use it out in his workshop for the remainder of its lifespan.
