Apparently, there are 133  people (2 invisible) browsing in the last 15 mins, 123 who are guests..

Really not sure why anyone wants to be invisible here.

some people choose to keep their online status to themselves, that's fine and their choice...

As for the bots, yeah we do get scanned fairly repetitively and we do have a fairly large range of banned IP addresses now, but after we ban the IP range they usually just end up moving to another ip range.

For example i've just added the IP Range 54.36.148.*, the Asterix is a wild card and means anything from 1-255, So that whole IP Range is 54.36.148.1 through to 54.36.148.255 - we were getting hammered by that particular bot from probably 20-30 IP addresses in that range.

we're probably just a tiny contribution to the learning of some AI model that we will eventually have to start paying to use. So basically paying to use our own knowledge...

there are more than a few in that list that are nz ip addresses, so there are definitely some watchers/lurkers  amongst them.  

One way of dealing with it would be to lock down the forum ie not viewable unless logged in - but it is probably better to have view access for guests

I agree. While our growth may be very slow it would be silly to close the possibility off completely.
