You can never have enough...
The berm is mowed. MrK emptied the catcher as I sat on his walking frame, then we swapped places as I did another round of lawn. Took an age, but it's done. And the magnolia is planted. Teamwork again lol. MrK's parents (the small bags of them we had) have been planted under the tree Heart . One less thing for me to think about when MrK falls off his perch and he now has a space where he can go to think/talk to them.

It's going to persist down shortly so inside for me.

Got one tank fully stripped down yesterday, just a bit of final cleaning and a vinegar wash to do to have it ready for a new life. Have to design a plan and get anything I need for that next. And I got some heritage tomato seed scraped out of the fruit and dried onto paper towels, and planted up in their punnets, I am going to guerilla plant any excess seedlings around the village for the fun of it, heritage plants don't need babying along, they like going a bit wild, so long as they get a decent start to life. I added the first clippings of my deck herb plantings to my dinner last night and really enjoyed that. I now have a full selection of edibles between deck and courtyard which is lovely, they make getting dinner organised a real pleasure, fresh is always best.

The forgotten broad bean seeds I rediscovered in late winter, dwarf form, and planted into a big pot to see if they were viable are all flowering frantically, and only knee high, so I shall definitely keep some of those seeds for winter planting. Nothing like the take over artists full sized olants can be. Great for small spaces... And lazy gardeners!

Mowed front lawn, thanks to the rain it had sprung up quickly so pleased to have it done. Will have to dig over that bit along the side where I want to plant sunflowers later as the rain has encouraged the weeds again.
On the plus side I discoverd a broad bean plant thriving down the back & it even has a pod or two already so they'll come in handy later.

Sounds like everyone has been super busy.

I decided to see how much deep fryers are, cos Mine is having a hissy. Works fine one day and not the next. I dont have time for appliances that do that.

So I ended up nipping over to Briscoes.. Love their sales. Got a Brabantia, 4 litre oh well its big but good. Down from $230 to $70.. I phoned and asked them to hold me one.. They only had 4 so Im glad I did.. Nipped into Pak n Save for extra oil. Its lovely. I cut the book, lol it was sitting between the flaps of the box.. oops. But Ill read that later.

While gone and when I got home it rained. So the lawn is still waiting.. Another day tomorrow.

So I enjoyed some painting..

Had to laugh Mike, Karens Hubby said he wont have diamond painting in the door. I know why too.. His sister in laws both do them, and sadly that has meant the housework has stopped... he should know better tho. Karen is a hard worker and would be like me. House work etc first before Play.

Finished the Blanket last night, So that's something else off the list.

Forgot about my card games. So off to do them now.

morning ladies Smile It looks like we will have a fine day today.

This morning, we need to take the recyclables to the transfer station. A monthly chore seeing as our rubbish isn't collected by the council. I think we have some dead batteries to take as well.

One of MrK's sisters is in a huff with us as he replied late to her text... sigh... such drama over something so trivial. We both pointed out to her that our phones are not joined to our hips, and we reply when we can. But she took it as a personal afront that the reply was 'late'.

I need to overlock some fabric for the dressing table runner today and maybe do a bit more weeding.

Happy crafting Smile

Morning everyone

Have had sun but its really dark at the mo.

Goodness Kiwimade, some people can be precious cant they. Hopefully she will figure out how silly she is being.

Going by the clouds I think the lawn may be out again. But I have a few things I can do inside. I emptied some Tupperware containers on the weekend, and since I cant put them in the dishwasher Ill get those washed. Fold some washing, the tea towels are in the machine as we speak.

Then later Ill paint.

Sooo ready to go back and see my ladies tomorrow. while I have enjoyed the long weekend, i am missing them.

Fantastic that there weren't any deaths on the road this Labour weekend.

Have a fab day all

I have repeatedly told anyone who matters email over text please, because the mobile is not my friend. And still one insists on texting me every Wednesday to see if I am scooting. I have started ignoring those texts.

Like KM I refuse to be on a phone lead.

The whanau gave me an old cellphone after the quakes (because contact had been difficult imemdiately after the bad one) so I used it for a while but then it threw a hissy fit - damned if I know why, I'm a technoklutz & they all know that so it was only a matter of time before I managed to muck it up.
But it is extremely good for using as a camera & also gives me the time when out anywhere since I can't wear a watch....if I remember to take it with me.

That remembering to bring it, or remembering to charge it, or even check it - that is a challenge in this house!

Back  from excursion  into the city.

Had to wait an hour for my watch to be fixed so went for coffee and cake then  kept walking to Cuba St where Drapers fabric has just opened a new branch= lolly shop for me they have lovely natural fibre fabrics sourced from Japan so great quality.  Dh found  otton knit that he liked requested enough for 2 new tops, I bought nice bright rayon  knit and cotton boucle black and white DH is such an enabler if I had been alone I would have not got the b&w fabric but he said it was a me fabric and he could see me wearing a relaxed cardi style jacket gotta Heart  Bonus they has 30% off opening special so helped reduce the price significantly  Cool

Bonus no charge to fix my watch Big Grin

He popped into shoe shop found 2 pairs shoes he couldn't decide which pair to get of course he didn't want to splash out on himself until I said there was spending money left over from our holiday a couple of months ago. I guess I am an enabler too Big Grin
We did get a bit wet as the predicted rain arrived a few hours early.

Need to wash my fabric

Have to say I love my tech but not wedded to my phone but do take it with me everywhere but don't necessarily respond straight away to messages if I am with company or otherwise engaged.

Enabling each other for the odd bit of spoiling is surely the sign of an excellent relationship, Mica.

And that's a truly excellent excuse, too! Rolleyes Big Grin Smile

morning ladies Smile I think we are in for some serious rain today.

The OT is coming this morning with MrK's gadgets, including the swing seat thingy for the bath. It will make life a lot easier for him.

I phoned WINZ (only an hour for them to call back) about helping with paying for a lawnmower person. And yes, there is wriggle room with MrK's super for one. So now the hunt is on to find one. Once I'm back on my feet I can stop it although one of my sisters-in-law thinks because our lawn is so big, we should keep it. We'll see how it goes.

I am so disappointed with the new rose Legacy. The flowers aren't opening properly and are very small. I'll take some pics and e mail Mathews Nursery for some ideas on how to sort it. There are no bugs that I can see but will pick a rose and pull it apart in case I am missing something deeper in the flower. On a brighter note, my sister-in-law ended up with two 'Kiwi' roses and asked if I would like one. Now to think about where to put it lol. I see Rob Bloomfield who bred Blackberry Nip, Lemon & Lime, Jack Frost and other roses is giving a talk next month about rose trials and breeding.

Better get cracking, I need to vacum as furniture will be pulled out to fit MrK's gadgets. And this will take me a while lol. This slowing down business takes a bit of getting used to.

Happy crafting Smile

Morning everyone

Wet and kind of chill here this morning.

Its amazing the gear they can help us with to make things safer. I still have the chair lifter on my chair, it helps saved my hammies. I use one of my trays that have long legs, although we got a shortened one and its brilliant to use when painting. I have a chair in the shower but dont use it to sit on lol. I move it out and it holds my towel till I need it. We brought that when Mum was with us. and I have an extra handle in the shower, that I got at the oppie.

Off to the home today, Haven't been since Friday lol. Painting today too so it will be fun. Im hoping our teenagers can play nicely together.

My Parcel arrived from Temu that my friend in Tauranga brought me. she knows me. And got me a 5 piece picture. one with a book and clouds. a kitten, a Bull she knows Im a bull, a cool one with the 4 seasons of a tree and a white tiger with a female Indian. So with the ones I had already I think I have about 13 to do.. ohh and a bunch of flowers with blue and white which will go soo well with the Blue Poppies..

Id guarantee if my Aussie mate did me an order she probably wouldn't have a clue what I like lol.

The friend that sent them I met on TM years ago. We have both lost hubbies and she is younger than me. She types for hospitals and has been doing the Hospitals up North but was saying yesterday they have had budget and services cut so much up there, she isnt get enough work, so is currently training to Auckland DHB typing.

Have a wonderful day everyone

Good morning.

It's overcast and cold ... more rain overnight and it looks like more today.

The sad lettuces have perked up and I look forward to the 8 new dahlias now in the ground. The blueberries nicely plumping up ... looking like another bumper crop.

It will be good to have the aids for Mr KM ... perhaps the OT can suggest a mower if they are local ... that would be a big help to you?

Lol Mica, life is short ... we need enablers!

Will help out with GC later, DS in charge for a few days ... DIL down country on a training course. Plan to have a crack at the christmas decorations ... a lovely kit with felt shapes, threads, beads and sequins.

Enjoy the day all.

Will sign the petition on behalf of all pets/animals!
