morning ladies Another calm day, the hose is going on the garden today as it is so dry.
The fencing contractor is coming today to finish mending the second side of our fence. We'll book him in to do the final side for January and that will be another item ticked off our repair/replace list. Typical of us to buy a property where the treated timber for the fencing was a faulty batch. Luckily, it's a few posts and concrete and job done and we don't have to replace the boards. The fourth side of the fence is new, so we know that timber is ok.
I'm hoping to finish the middle bit of the garden this morning and that will tidy up along one fenceline. The dahlias are poking through finally, I'll need to put the wire mesh cylinders MrK made me over them for protection from the rabbits.
Six more sleeps for the Fluffy One before she goes home. She's moping about missing her mum now.
Happy crafting

Cleaned the exciting house, did the washing, took dog for walk & then went scouting again. Found a couple of wee suits for the new baby expected next year so pleased about that as they're nicer than the ones I looked at the other day.
Then home & played about a bit with a couple of paintings.
Now absolutely knackered so have given myself the rest of the day off; scrambled egg followed by a bit of strudel if any is left for dinner.
Madame Le Cat murdered a bird the other day & now there's a sentry bird out there watching her every move & squawking loudly to warn the other birds...

Bad catty. The bird brains will remember, and hassle her for weeks, lol. But they never learn, because they are cats.

morning ladies Can't believe it, another calm, overcast morning. And what a sunrise we had, just stunning.
The birds are smart and will remember this murder. They will be watching Madam le Cat very very closely, especially as their eggs hatch.
MrK has his melanoma removed this morning, it shouldn't take long to do. Grocery shopping and a quick visit to Spotlight for more embroidery thread is on the agenda as well.
The garden weeding is a slow process but I'm getting there. Have done the worst of it and probably only half a wheelie bin of weeds left to pull. I've found a place to plant the new rose 'Kiwi' when it arrives and realised yesterday, there is no lavender in the garden. That will have to be sorted out
The cloth for the dressing table is coming along nicely, I'll take a pic when I can and post it.
Happy crafting

I have several lavenders, popped into neglected spaces, my favourite is a deep pink with quite a frilly flower. It isn't a big grower but just now it is a lovely splash of colour with pink valerian trying to compete with it. You cannot beat a plant that has both scent and aesthetic appeal, especially one that just goes on and on...

Good morning.
Beautiful day, regular watering needed now.
Busy yesterday with a school day, jobs to do out and walked to swimming lessons with one GS after school. Only seems yesterday was accompanying my own kids! Much easier now with warm water and the use of fins to tackle those lengths!
I have one lavender tucked in a sunny corner of the vege garden. At its flowering best now, ripe for picking sprigs to have on show inside. The Star Jasmine also in full bloom ... nice to see the Waxeyes also enjoy the flowers.
Onto 3rd decoration, 3 to go ... sewing the tiny, embellished Christmas clothes a test of fine motor skills indeed!
It will be interesting to have an idea of what's happening in the US in 24 hours. Don't relish the idea of a madman at the helm but out of our hands.
Still random fireworks all night ... hopefully a good amount over and done with tonight!
Enjoy the day all.

Morning everyone
Fine here at the mo.
Had a rather early morning Night, so a late start to the day. My Madam is still curled up on my lap. Thankfully she cannot get to the birds. So they are safe and some rather cheeky cos they come right up to the doors when open.
Cant remember if I said the rest home David got another Dog, a rescue, he is fitting in ok so far but the odd things are happening. The latest was David got the hose out. Poor Max took off.. Obviously been used against him, either the water or the actual hose.
We were talking about the possibility of getting them a huge run. Rather than them being collared and hook up. He has a wedding coming up at his place and I said it would mean they are safe and he will get to enjoy the wedding too. His place is beautiful from the pictures I've seen, cant wait to be invited to have a look. He is waiting till all the work is done.
Yesterday at the home was about the second worst I've had there. We all had there. We went to go down to lunch to discover they had taken heaps of people down there and there was only room for Mum and Colleen. No room for Dianne who sits and feeds mum, saving them the job and David and I who gat everyone's drinks, and anything else they need. So we left and were really p*ssed off. Add to that the whole Christmas lunch shit and we were all pretty wound up.
David apologized then F bombed. Which he's never done before. There were tears of frustration. We all feel like they are constantly trying to p*iss us off. I got a photo of the Christmas lunch poster. Its time to tell them to sort things out or we will go public. We are lucky we get to leave. But to use their words, we feel they are neglecting or abusing the residents, and certainly not being nice to visitors.
Dianne had to come here to pick up a parcel, so we debriefed. Which she cant do at home cos her Hubby gets sick of hearing it.. Which I understand too. So it helps if we can talk it out before she goes home. But as I told David and Colleen for Dianne to say sometimes she wishes mum would go, so she doesn't have to live through the crap, it shows how much it is hurting Dianne too.
No plans for the day, so Ill Paint.. I did all the black background of the first part of the 5 piece last night.. I will do some photos later.
Have a fab day all..

Have reassembled the vacuum and whizzed around. Found packet gluten free lemon zesty slice just opened it and I need coconut oil so a trip to supermarket when DH returns we can tick off a couple of other errands at same time.
Out to lunch with friends the hopefully a play in sewing cave. Need to put buttons on henley tshirt that I made DH yesterday.
Enjoy your day

First load in the machine, cat box cleaned, refreshed, and tea at my side waiting now for groceries to be delivered. I really like New Worlds free delivery, it saves me a lot of time, and scooter battery energy. Those are starting to fade so I am weighing up the pros and cons of updating the machine now, or just doing the batteries. My scoot must be close to six or seven years old now, so it would make sense to get a younger one, with good batteries.
I am not good with either or decisions that have no clear path, so I am procrastinating...

morning ladies Another calm start to the day, that's quite a few in a row now.
Making big decisions takes time, OHH. I write pros and cons lists sometimes.
Back to the weeding this morning and then I'm having my haircut this afternoon. Weeding is a long, slow process now lol. While out and about this afternoon I need to buy eggs and doggy food. I might have a look for a lavender plant too. I've had the pink one you describe, OHH, but this time I think I'll stick to the traditional purple. The little Thumberlina is a sweetie with the small flowers.
MrK had his melanoma removed yesterday without any fuss or bother.
I cut my finger yesterday and couldn't figure out why the bleeding wouldn't stop... then remembered the blood thinners lol. Pretty sure those blood thinners are working lol.
Better get cracking and do a bit more weeding before the day becomes too hot.

Morning everyone
Calm here too.
Yep Kiwimade, wait till winter, that's going to hit for you.. I always had cold hands and feet, my sister was the same. But my first winter on blood thinners was a shock to the system.
I Love the smell of Lavendar but not the busy bee life they bring. I know they are a good companion plant for your veges too, but I will never intentionally plant one lol.
Breakfast has a story about a woman in the USA who is moaning about her fiancé buying her a $63 engagement ring from temu. He earns $300K a year. When we got mine, I didn't like diamonds so it was never going to feature, It was $153 for my garnet ring and I paid half of it. I had to have one stone replaced years ago, Still wearing it. I'd actually run a mile if I was that poor guy. Nothing he does will be enough for her I dont think.
Had a very quiet day yesterday. Off to the home today and I really hope it will be better. Monday was a very hard day for everyone. Painting day too. And we will give Shavani the blanket and toy.
I finished the first small panel of the 5 piece picture in about 13 hours. Started one of my pansy pictures last night. Its round so not as much detail as square ones. But its nice to be working with such pretty colours. And it will help break the darkness of the big one.
Hunni I know pretty much nothing about scooters. Are the batteries something that need to be replaced frequently? Im guessing at a massive cost too.. I plan on having one later as I age.
Have a fab day all

Good morning.
Overcast at present but the sun is on the way.
Lol Popeye, I saw that ... maybe the cheaper ring was a test!
I forgot yesterday that the power was to be off most of the day. Apart from a quiet house (I like the radio on, usually talkback) I managed without ok, inside jobs, a good session of handcraft and a long walk.
Plenty of fireworks last night until after midnight .... bl@@dy things.
Out this morning then the day is mine.
Enjoy the day all.

When my dog Stella was scared because of fireworks or lightning, I used to put her on top of my bed and hug her holding a pillow around her ears.
I miss her.
It's not the least charm of a theory that it is refutable. The hundred-times-refuted theory of "free will" owes its persistence to this charm alone; some one is always appearing who feels himself strong enough to refute it - Friedrich Nietzsche

I paid for mine, the same day he proposed, a week after we met - I wasn't going to let fate get a chance to ruin my love at first sight experience! It was, or rather is - an antique cabochon sapphire surrounded by tiny rose cut diamonds set in a square Georgian setting, and cost $100 in 1975. And I loved it. My Mum took one look and called it a 'dress ring' which it was, but it was bigger than her diamond version, lol. I only took it off a few months ago, it has developed a sharp edge and the band was very thin, so it and the rings that over the years stacked with it sit safely on the bookcase by my bed. I wear the wide gold band it sat on, on the left and my grandfathers gold signet ring, engraving worn away on the other, matching weights, lol.
It still makes me smile, that clutch of old rings sitting there.
I bit the bullet yesterday and bought an electric blue Nordic Cruiser scooter, three years old, new batteries, that has better ground clearance than my Neo, and supposedly better suspension. Same sized motor, much fewer hours, none of them on the road and a very good price, taking the pressure off me having to get the Neo sold to top up savings. I am just hoping it turns out to be as good a machine as that scoot was. Being so much more recent a build though is a confidence booster for reliability, seeing I depend on it so much. Nerve wracking process, so I am glad it is done. Delivery Friday, so I might clean up the Neo and list it this weekend at a silly price and see if I can get a quick sale, otherwise I'll update the batteries and take my time.

One fenceline weeded And the Furry One is on a mission to catch the rabbit that has been eating our plants... what a good boy he is.
Yes, popeye, those scoot batteries are expensive. MrK's batteries are around $1800 so buying a new scoot makes sound, economic sense. Well done OHH and may you have many happy kilometers on your new purchase.
No fireworks out here thank goodness. Being rural, we don't expect them. Zquerty, your Stella looks a real darling
Time for a cuppa, then a shower so I'm squeaky clean for my hair cut.

Madame Le Dog not best pleased at the fireworks last night, so turned TV up loud to cover the noise. I wish they'd make the wretched things illegal & just have a public display instead, but that apparently is far too sensible.
Good news re sccoter Hunni, hope it all goes well.
Out this morning down to New World where they allegedly had sage plants - mine died a while back so wanted to replace it - but alas they had none left, although they did have spring onion plants so got some of those instead. I have to trek over to northlands later this week to do some more xmas stuff so might try the warehouse....think I'm fed up with xmas already!

As big an investment as a car is Hunni. but at least it provides Freedom, and that is priceless.
Stella is beautiful.
Missy told me there were fireworks around midnight last night. I saw them out my window next to my chair.. Thank goodness for sleeping pills lol. Madam slept on me all night tho.
Cant believe the difference of the two days at the home this week. First off the receptionist actually said hello to me first. That NEVER Happens lol Then grumbly carer said hello first too.. And Mum had everything she needed and everything else within reach.
Painting was Good.
Ohh Shivani loved the blanket and toy.. Im soo pleased. she had a photo taken with us too. It didn't go down too well with rest home Dianne but that's what I thought was needed to make her realise how stupid she is being. We have asked the Activities lady if they can buy their own little easels. I brought mine home today. But I will take it back on painting day until I either "Forget" or they buy their own.
Its been muggy today and Im shattered. My back is still really sore from sneezing yesterday. It hurt so much I was scared to move for a while.
Goo Furry one deal with that blighter flogging the veges. You can do it
