Slash & burn, slash & burn; this govt has become so blatantly uncaring that you have to wonder whether some people may be somehow involved with private health providers.
Govt had assured everyone last year, that frontline workers would not be affected.
Now clinical staff will have to do those things. How many people might die as a result? What number would be sufficient for govt to change this idiotic idea? Or do they not care at all?
Frontline health workers told their jobs could soon be gone...those who make beds, tidy wards & replenish supplies to ease the load on staff may be out of work next year.

in order to be old & wise, you must first be young & stupid. (I'm still working on that.)

I saw that and thought the same but I read somewhere they were roles introduced during covid to lighten the load on clinical staff at the time - apparently the clinical staff aren't so overworked now..

https://www.odt.co.nz/news/national/fron...on-be-gone IMHO, they haven't slashed enough.
ACT have said on multiple occasions that they don't go far enough to cut costs and would have wished for more job cuts.
It appears it's a global trend, Elon Musk will be spearheading the lead for this in the US, much like David Seymour.
And it could all be Argentinas lead that we are all following.
The world is watching and all the naysayers have been proved wrong.
We all need to do what Argentina is doing.
Putting that aside, the govt is reprioritizing where spending is going, so there will be new roles in the health sector that are more critical.

And who really gives a toss what Mr Rimmer and his 8% party have to do with anything?

"Haven't slashed enough??"
How many people do you want to see die, as a result of their idiotic health policies?
ACT is an extreme far right Neo liberal party, unconcerned with any pesky effects on working people. They appear not to mind that we now have homeless people, beggars in the streets & people who do not have enough to eat on a regular basis.
These are people who've massively cut the quality of school lunches - which they tried to end - because they cost too much.
They give the impression of being both utterly lacking in empathy & being motivated solely by greed.
