Good morning.
Blue sky and sunshine again. Looks like we're headed for another scorcher! I feel sorry for the cricket players.
I hope you have another good sales day Popeye.
KM the recipe I've used in recent years for mince pies includes a lemon (juice and rind) with your own choice of chopped dried fruit and apples ... steeped in some brandy (don't need to use). It also has chopped grapes which I don't include. A non "traditional" recipe! Make it up, put into containers, freeze and pull out as needed.
Mica the GC keep us on our toes. Look forward to seeing our 2yo GD in Welly ... she's also a chatterbox ... mostly understandable!
More tidying today hopefully before it gets too hot plus library books to return. I have a few 2nd hand ones to take away.
Better move.
Enjoy the day all.

Yup, I'll be fetching the brollies out today. We have two now, so once it gets too hot under my deck one I can take whatever is in hand at the time to the other. Interesting how cooler it is on the grass rather than the deck.
It must be something about the season, I took my stiff broom to the underdeck yesterday morning and tidied up leftover leaves and chucked the broken pots and throwouts to the big pink bin, even pulled the broken chair out from the underhouse to go in as well. Inorganics taken care of. And remembered - at 2am - the saw in the toolbox that has a split in the handle that renders it dangerous to use, it can go too, along with the last of the black plastics and silcon kitchen tools, now I have finally replaced them with stainless steel. Took a while, but now all the non stick stuff has gone.
Now I am contemplating another editing of the wardrobe, it is getting crammed again after a winter of scoring out of season treasures.
Then again, it might get too hot to do anything but sit in the cool and stitch...

Buggar, the fog has gone making it really hot out in the garden. I have left the shady bit to do for moments like this. The sparrows have been making little dust bowls in the mulch ground from one of the trees. Every now and then we see one or two visit for a dust bath. I'm tempted to leave the mulch as is for a while and let the birds enjoy it. Any excuse not to have to move it lol.
Sounds like you are making the most of the bin, OHH. here's hoping your neighbours do the same. Saves dragging stuff to the road for collection and $$$ if you have to use the transfer station.
Kettle is on, I'm going to make a cuppa, sit in the Cape Cod chair and enjoy the goings on in the garden before finishing the last of the weeding.

A lovely bit of joy found this morning, mama fantail teaching her babies to peep and fly at the same time around the big plane tree, closely followed by a gymnastics display from the swallow family. Competition among the parents maybe? My babies are better than yours? Whatever inspired it, it filled my heart with morning glories...

awwww lucky you, OHH, to see them. It doesn't take much to make us smile does it.
Garden done Six weeks ago I could only manage little bits at a time. These meds make all the difference.
Too hot to be outside, even the Furry One has given up chasing whatever was in the pump shed. Too hot for the Furry Feinds to be out as well. I found the tail from the Furry Feind he ate under the tree. Nothing else left.

It was getting too hot in the garage, making me sleepy.
Only person that Turned up was David and He brought exactly what I thought he would lol. Dishes for catering lol
He brought the van up to load the stuff into so I saw Bella and Maximus as I call him. God he's big lol. Getting fixed on Monday hasn't slowed him down. Then that brought Jack out from Jess's and her friends pretty wee Emmie. So I got 4 dogs smells on me that Madam sniffed and walked away lol.
Inside now. Jess will come back later, she has a headache and I think she was quietly hoping her friend would go home. she was pale too.
Time to watch some cricket, well after their lunchbreak.
They told me I couldn't, so I did.!!

That sounds lovely Hunni - small thngs like that can lift the heart & make our day for most of us.
Lots of dogs Popeye! Really pleased that greyhound racing is to end, they're lovely dogs.
Still no sign of that promised & desperately needed rain, did a bit more digging out wretched buttercups. I love them but loathe them in my garden. Back lawn is drying out in patches
Finished second dragon in one of the paintings for Moon Calendar earlier, really quite pleased with it too as I'd been a bit unsure that I could do another from the opposite side but managed it - although there may have been a bit of swearing involved, & Madame Le Dog left the room at a fairly swift pace. If it all goes OK that'll be at least one to send but would like to have a go at some others too but need to finish this first, then work on ideas for another.
SO glad I managed to do bits & pieces of Xmas stuff through the year & now its done & dusted. I'd hate to have to be doing it now, with shops full of stressed people.

morning ladies Rain please! Pretty please with a cherry on top!
Mica, thanks for the fruit mince recipe, I'll give it a go.
Missy would not be amused you were unfaithful, popeye lol. It was 30 degrees in our town yesterday and a bit hotter here. So, I can imagine how hot it was in your garage. We relented and turned on the air con. The Furry One found his sweet spot again and plonked himself down to cool off.
We have buttercups as well. They have to be dug out and are a PITA. The only good thing about them is they are a pretty yellow and the bees love them. There must be a bumble bee nest somewhere close as there have been lots of baby bumble bees in the garden. They are just so cute lol.
Last night for dinner we had the first of the spuds and OMG they are so good! All that horse poo has paid off, that's for sure. MrK didn't even need to dig, just put his hand into the soil and pulled out enough for dinner. Lovely size, perfectly formed. And we are eating our cucumbers. MrK planted the 'snack' sized cucs and they are so yumm cold from the fridge as a midafternoon snack.
Christmas present wrapping today and MrK wants to do some of his Christmas shopping at some stage. And some more hardanger later.
Happy crafting

Morning everyone
Damp here, not raining at the mo tho. Left the fan on low when I went to sleep last night. but woke up cold lol. Usually I have the fan on full speed 24/7 at this time of year.. Amazing pay off from taking that 58 kilos jacket off lol.
Off to see the girls today. Hopefully as normal as it can be with covid there. David is taking Club sandwiches in on Friday, after we decided albeit after he left on Friday that we would just do normal. Colleen must have forgotten. Annie is the only one of our Family that can walk around, so if they get covid its cos the staff have carried it in...
Ohh David said yesterday he had been talking to one of Lorne's Daughters, they wrote a letter of complaint and one of the Witch pack has been moved to a different wing.. Which is ridiculous, It just means she can be nasty to someone else. But at least she is away from our family lot.
Ill pack up the remainder of the stuff I was trying to sell and take up to the oppy tomorrow. I dont want it coming back into the house.
Have a fab day all

Good morning.
Grey sky ... will it, won't it rain.
School run today. Not many days left now. Kids are getting excited for Christmas plus holidays
KM I mentioned the alternative mince pie ingredients. I'll post the measurements when I get back from drop off.
Nice turnaround for the Black Caps ... it must have been a hot day though!
Vacuum session and general tidy up later.
Enjoy the day all.

Thx for fruit mince recipe Roma mine doesn't have lemon juice might give that a go next time I make it. Last years batch is well and truly pickled in brandy and very tasty. Will make mince pies later this week they will be gone in couple days. Made and froze the gluten free pastry a while ago.
Kiwimade you prompted me to make some lemon syrup DGD1 liked it when I made her a drink yesterday.
Off to visit friend whose husband died in September she asked DH if he would sort through or DH paints we will pop out for lunch afterwards
Visited my sewing buddy yesterday we had a good catch up

Oh heck, I thanked mica lol. I seem to be a bit vague with names lately. Thanks, roma lol. It sounds lovely and I'll give it a go. Glad you liked the lemon syrup, mica. It's tasty and you can adjust the sugar and lemon to suit.

Day 2 with no milk...
This morning, she somehow managed to leap from the floor onto my shoulder. While she quite often sits on my shoulder, straignt from the floor is a first...& slighty worrying.
Tried her majesty Madame le Cat with a mix of mostly water & a drop of milk...I'm extremely grateful that cats are unable to speak. Apparently she wasn't at all pleased.

I am hopeless. I'll recognise a face but not remember a name.
lol Lilith, we truly are slaves to our cats and dogs.
The Christmas wreath is hanging at last. I've tied six very old bells to it so it will tinkle when the breeze catches it. My mother-in-law gave me the bells for our first married Christmas, and they were old even then.
We've had a thunder and lightning storm much to the Furry One's horror. He hates noise he can't figure out where it's coming from so spent the entirety of the storm snuggled hard against me.

Spent a happy twenty minutes or so watching the PinkBins truck come down our steep drive with an empty bin on board, swing into place, pick up the full one and - double loaded - take it up to the road drop it off on the verge then bring the replacement down and into place. These guys are so good at feeling where the weight is where it is going to swing, and dealing with it, and so underappreciated for his skills.
Mind you, he enjoyed his audience, and told us he can do even better with a few whiskies under his belt...
Mmmm, no thanks, lol.

MrP just called all women Sweetheart... He was hopeless with names, and oddly didnt like to be reminded of them either.
Must have been weird for some people but he called me Jack lol..
Rest home David and I are engaged lol... There was a stainless steel ring in one of the boxes of stuff I had in the garage sale. Turned out that it was in the box with cups and saucers he got. He wore it in today. And I saw it just before he announced we were engaged..
Honesty it was the best thing for him to do cos Colleen and Annie were at each others throats again.. So we ended up having fun with it all afternoon. Colleen couldn't handle it and went back to her room. She told me later shes going to get some help or sort it out.
She really just needs to think about the fact that the problem is with herself. cos she arguing with rest home Dianne and Annie.
David brought some photos in today too, since I had taken some in on Friday.. One being a wedding photo from 20 years ago. he wads Hot lol.. Like alot of gay men... Such a waste lol.
But it was a good day apart from the hissy..
Wet but no storm here
