California wildfires
#1
Some striking imagery being posted on this disaster. This drone shot is one of the worst scenes I've seen. A lot of expensive real estate reduced to ashes there.

Well, not as if they didn't know this was coming. Might make rather a mess of a few insurance companies though.

Still, no doubt Mr Trump will sort it out. Cough cough...

Apparently Musk is blaming DEI (Diversity, Equity and Inclusion) practices in California.   He asserts that DEI is the reason for the shortage of fire fighters.   He really is getting way too big for his boots.
#4
So why are the media even reporting what he says?

America is a very strange country.

Interesting though, how little there is being said on the water problem.
#5
It seems that there were budget cuts prior to this lot of fires...
And their water hydrants ran dry. Poor people.

Just overlook the fact that SoCal is in a severe drought with only 4mm of rain recorded in LA since July last year. Bit difficult to maintain water supply for fire fighting under those prevailing conditions.

Perhaps he meant "opus dei" or God's work.

More than 10 years ago and further back there were predictions made about wildfires along the western slopes of the Rocky Mountains and it was said that if this happened it would be proof that Global Warming was happening.

As you can see this surmise was correct.
It's not the least charm of a theory that it is refutable. The hundred-times-refuted theory of "free will" owes its persistence to this charm alone; some one is always appearing who feels himself strong enough to refute it - Friedrich Nietzsche

And no doubt there will still somehow be those who claim that its all nonsense...

Such incredible losses...

And having been through fires, I can imagine the smell. You never forget that smell.

That was the first thing that came to mind for me when it was reported that some residents were being allowed, escorted, back to their still standing homes for medications and clothes. They'll struugle to get the smoke smell out of them.

This is not necessarily a bad thing. While they are trying to save themselves its taking resources away from killing people in other countries. Lets hope after this they can not afford to continue on there global purge of anyone they don't like or want to steal from.

There will be an investigation into the lack of water. People are doing whatever they can to help those affected.

I hope they all managed to get their pets out of the fire zone in time.

Ya think? While Trump sends his son to check out Greenland, and puts support behind a potential right wing candidate for Canada's leadership?

Same game, different board.

While virtually no one seems to be taking hs ridiculous ideas seriously, (apart from those countries) you have to wonder what might happen if that idiot actually made moves to do either of those things.

How is this related at all to what I posted???
