It's not the least charm of a theory that it is refutable. The hundred-times-refuted theory of "free will" owes its persistence to this charm alone; some one is always appearing who feels himself strong enough to refute it - Friedrich Nietzsche

I suppose he's proud of himself.

I hope that's the worst of it; traditionally gay people have a had a tough time of it & I suspect that if Trump thinks there are votes for him by being hard on them, he'll make things worse for them.

Don't know about the importance of votes to Trump. Four years from now we'll be seeing the back him, in favour of US's finest next voted into the oval office.

Trump will try to make himself lifetime president, he wants to be king.

Horrible though it is, that woluldn't surprise me. He has delusions of his own importance. But surely, that would be a step too far for most, even some of his supporters - but then, who knows with those people, it might not be safe to oppose his nibs.

Considering his age and state of health I doubt he will see this term out leave alone anything beyond that. That is of course if someone doesn't euthanise him in the meantime.

I have to wonder, why are they so afraid of difference?

Well...I doubt there'd be any shortage of volunteers to do that... Rolleyes

They always are though, aren't they. Hitler took strong exception to anyone different too.

Doesn't bode well, the way that lot over the water are going. You have to wonder how long before Canada & Mexico cop their first lot of refugees. They may even have to set up an underground railway.

It's all a smoke screen and disruption to hid behind so the grifting is not noticed in all the fuss.

Maybe so, but people will suffer as a result - not  that his nibs & his mates are bothered, as long as they get support from some they can feel that non supporters are 'other' & once a group is 'othered' then it can be open season if that suits them.

Which, given his behaviour so far is possible. Dodgy

Trump pardons Silk Road dark web market creator Ross Ulbricht

Meet Silk Road’s Ross Ulbricht, just pardoned by Donald Trump

https://www.scmp.com/magazines/style/ent...ife-prison

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ross_Ulbricht

"On January 21, 2025, U.S. President Donald Trump granted Ulbricht a full and unconditional pardon,[4] following a promise at the 2024 Libertarian National Convention.[84]

President Trump said of the pardon in a Truth Social post made on January 21, 2025:

I just called the mother of Ross William Ulbricht to let her know that in honor of her and the Libertarian Movement, which supported me so strongly, it was my pleasure to have just signed a full and unconditional pardon of her son, Ross. The scum that worked to convict him were some of the same lunatics who were involved in the modern day weaponization of government against me. He was given two life sentences, plus 40 years. Ridiculous!"
