On the plus side of grocery shopping, cherries were under $7 at Pak n Save.
Those damed buttercups are sneaky! Go get 'em Lilith lol. I hate them and have to use the garden fork to dig them out.
Almost have the top of the biscornu steel wool pincushion finished. These are fun to make, easy to do but look difficult.

I hope its prophetic & he's toast at the next election.
I hope the response to the Treaty Principles Bill eats him for breakfast.
Its almost a shame that we don't have crocs here really...

Morning everyone
A little chilly this morning. But its still dry.
Did I mention how Happy I am feeling these days lol.. Its scary in a way lol.. If I push the money crap aside everything else is Wonderful I haven't felt like this for years.
Im going out this morning before I go to the home. Have had a second idea in a way of getting MrP's ashes to where I know he would be happy. Without being on a full blown beach. I've been there once, when I was still at college. and as I didn't drive I have no idea how to get there. Hence this mornings trip.
Got told off last night lol. The lightbulb above where I sit in the lounge blew. I didn't have a spare, oops so I pinched one of the three in the hallway. Easy enough when I had walls to hang onto. But on the top of the stepladder without a wall was too scary. Called my lovely Neighbour and caught him just as he was leaving. So he came and changed it for me. And told me off. What happens if you fall was his comment.. I said Umm it would hurt lol.. he said text, dont try it again.. Nice that he cares.
Have a wonderful day everyone

morning ladies It rained last night, rain is always welcome in the garden.
Great you are so happy, popeye Hopefully you will find the spot you are looking for. MrK has picked his spot out
I was up at 2.30am to bring the Furry One back inside. He had chased a possum up a tree. The possum was yackkk, yackkkk, yaccking at him and he was barking like crazy. This time of the year they use our property as a shortcut to the apple tree across the road. He's a good boy, protecting his mum's roses lol. Even if it is in the wee hours.
Back into the garden for me this morning. It has gone nuts with this rain. And then I'll do the second half of the pincushion as I rest.
MrK has enough tomoatoes to make relish and sauce and is freezing our beans. The blueberry is producing every day, and we are munching our way through the grapes. My new favourite lunch is twice toasted Vogels buttered with lemon and garlic hummus and a thick slice of tomato and cracked black pepper. Soooo good! Even MrK-I-don't-like-hummus-as-it's-chickpeas has started to eat it. Little does he know I put chickpeas into our winter casseroles, and he's been eating them for years

Pleased you're so happy Popeye, & what a lovely neighbour.
Been hunting again, over to Northlands; no minecraft or Pokemon stuff in the boy's sizes, probably too early in the year for winter things yet but managed to find a couple of wee trouser/leggings thingys for the new wee one due in May, a wee girl, so they'll have one of each.
Not doing much else today, weird how hunting/ shopping is so tiring.

morning ladies It's going to be a gorgeous day today. It rained off and on yesterday, but the garden was still very dry under the little bit of damp. Put the new sprinkler into action and OMG, what a difference. It only took half the time to water. It has huge reach compared to the old one.
I'll be back weeding, there is around half of the garden to do. Normally I can have this done over a couple of days, it's so frustrating being so slow.
Yesterday I phoned the hospital as no one could help me when I called in to see them Tuesday. I've been put on the short list for when someone can't make it to their appointment. And, no, we don't have your recent ECG. I'll be in town later today and will chase that up. I paid an arm and a leg for the ECG and for it to be emailed so not happy.
I finished my pincushion and am happy with it I'll post a pic later.
Happy crafting

Morning everyone
Its just started raining.
Soo annoying when the medical profession messes up Kiwimade. I dont know how much it is to have an ECG done at our medical center now. It used to be $35. I could travel to the superclinic for less in gas to have it done free. But its probably way more now cos Im talking 13 plus years ago.
Off to my appointment today.. I found out yesterday, cos Lets face it Winz dont tell you everything. That you Can get help to get to medical appointments out of town. And its non recoverable too. So Ill stop and top up the gas on my way.
We have decided to leave earlier, and have lunch on the way. Then go to the appointment. Then straight home after it. So Dianne and Paul can go and get their groceries. It will be nice having company with me.
Mum wasnt at all well yesterday. She has an infection in her lungs. Quite rattley. But we also think she has a urine infection. Was quite confused, She came to painting and her colour choice was well off the planet. Black flowers, very confused. They have increased her oxygen cos she just wasnt getting enough and had a blue tint.
Have a wonderful day all.. And if you happen to be free at 1pm please send all your hope thoughts to my surgeon.
They told me I couldn't, so I did.!!

My last one was $35, middle of last year, but who knows now - everything is going up.
Weirdness is hitting again. I have lost a diary. For years it sat in among my cookbooks in the kitchen because it had several family recipes inside that I didn't want to lose, then I rearranged the shelves last Winter, and I must have put it somewhere safe... I have scoured cupboards, boxes, drawers, even an old briefcase (cleaned that out lol!) but no sign of the darned thing. But do you think I can stop wondering about it?
Very irritating.
On another subject, I came across a Greens post on my Instagram yesterday that made me smile big time. It shows their Chinese Kiwi, Lawrence Xu nan striding down a corridor in the most glorious outfit, black belted silk top with an outrageously fine beautiful pleated skirt that has been printed with images that catch the light as the fabric moves - I think based on or referencing ancient costume, but oh it is one hell of a bit of video. Maybe some of our more tech adept folk can find it and put up a link. It reminded me of the common criticism that New Zealanders are boring, this demonstrates that some of us are exactly the opposite of that, and how lucky we are to be a truly multicultural society with all the glorious moments that brings.
Makes me think I should be braver with colour, and to hell with playing safe!

Ohhhhhhhhhh wow! Gorgeous! You are right, OHH, we are so lucky. And then we have those fu**wits in Parliament yesterday making obscene comments about other ethnicities. Disgusting behaviour.
The ECG was $45, not cheap by any means.

Good morning.
A sunny day with not much breeze (so far).
A beautiful outfit ... love the fabric and pleated pattern used in the skirt.
I've read that book Mica ... a good read.
Good luck with your appt today Popeye.
Nothing planned for me today ... time will be spent outside at some stage and could do with some baking.
Enjoy the day all.

I'm in two minds about Manage My Health. I've been using it for ages, despite its record of my medical history being badly incorrect. I've found the prescription repeat function lacking lately, with repeat prescriptions being for wrong quantities (e.g. I need 2 tabs 4 times a day, i.e. 8 x 30 = 240 but get prescribed 180) and no easy way to communicate with the system. And it told me that the reason I can't email my GP is that GPs have the ability to block patients. It is certainly not patient-centred, and I know my GP hates it. I know our medical centre is badly overstretched but surely there is a better system available.

We're having the same issue with the prescription repeats with Manage My Health, Olive. I find it frustrating but not half as much as MrK. We can leave a message with the repeat, but it is often overlooked or ignored. I'm sick of prescriptions missing meds that can't or won't be recorded on MMH and missed in the comment section. Now I phone the script into the docs and when I pick it up, I always check it to make sure everything is there. I'm over paying for 'scripts that are incorrect.

That looks stunning, reminds me slightly of those old asian (Japanese, I think or perhaps Chinese) costumes worn in ancient times.
And yes, I firmly beieve that the world needs more colour.
I think the idiots in parliament making idiotic comments are infantile, & once again they are the perfect illustration of why we should be teaching empathy in schools.
Did a quick dash to library earlier & had a pleasant surpise - no roadworks! This is unheard of - even the smallest jobs usually take several weeks so really pleased not to have to go around.

That's really interesting. I've had exactly the same issues - my comments and requests being ignored as well as incorrect prescribing. I've tried to ring but get the phone message that gives an email address, which is read out so quickly that I've never been able to write it down, then says "if you do not have access to a computer please hold". I know they are stretched beyond what is humane, but I do wonder how old people with diminishing cognition get on.

(This post was last modified: 30-01-2025, 10:48 AM by Oh_hunnihunni.)
I am gardening. Well, lopping chunks off an hibiscus and mutabilis so I can get at the grasses sneaking in underneath. And I needed to expend energy rather than punch a manipulative cow on the nose. Why is it some people always want to take advantage of the kindness of others? Grrrr.
Still, that bit of garden does look better, and will be even more betterer once I have cleaned up the mess I have piled up on the concrete. Though, I could leave it. And hope the miscreant falls over it...
I need to do a little more lopping methinks. My dark side is still whispering to me!
