He will have to do what Jacinda did when Hosking tied her in knots with awkward questions - just drop Hosking off his list - Jacinda gave her Hosking time to Jono and Ben - am sure Luxon could do the same

In this case 'My Cockskin' was essentially spoon feeding Luxon the answers that should have been given but Luxon refused to take that opportunity, which was either due to his reluctance to divert from his pre-composed babble or just an aversion to say the word 'sacked'. Either way it demonstrates a significant lack of ability to adapt to circumstances, and such a contrast from our previous PM who was able to recall details on the fly effortlessly. But if you would prefer to have a PM who performs like an AI automaton and demonstrates the intestinal fortitude of a jellyfish perhaps the best approach for him is to only front to media who put patsy questions to him, though I doubt Luxon would even keep up with Jono & Ben's quick wit.

To be fair, Luxon has exhibited the same behaviour of constantly repeating and reiterating the same "message" over and over again, since the beginning of time, well at least since he started electioneering... Quite sure it is straight out of some polsci handbook
This world would be a perfect place if it wasn't for the people.

I am just grateful we are not the USA.
Roll on the next election.

My - totally speculative - take on the interview is that Hosking has been recruited by a faction in National to destabilise Luxon, and pave the way for a coup - Bishop would be who is behind it. The idea would be to front someone who is a more effective bullshitter than Luxon, to give the impression that National has eased up a bit. The difficulty is they have given away so much in tax cuts to landlords and the rich, they don't have many resources to play with - any change would be minimal, but accompanied by loads of flannel.
