You can never have enough...
Sounds like me Mica, when I can't decide - just wear the lot and give the world a little grin. We have house washing truck outside, housewashing people nowhere to be seen, but all doors and windows shut just in case one miraculously appears with hose at the ready. It's going to get warm fast in here so they better bloody well hurry up, lol...

I hate it when the landlord's get all box ticking, especially this particular calendar event. It means I have to wash the windows again, they are always messy when this lot leaves. Still, it gives us something to whinge about!

yes, Olive. Our chemist has a walk-in system for covid, just not between 12.00pm - 2.00pm when they are trying to cover lunch breaks. Done and dusted for the covid jab, easy peasy and less to worry about with this heart stuff.

It's going to take me a few mornings to sort this salvia out, but it should look much better along the main road in time. Roma, two of your hydrangea cuttings survived my neglect Big Grin Big Grin and they will be in between the salvias. I'm sure those driving by this morning thought I was nuts weeding out on a main road lol. The weedkiller did a good job so it's a reasonably easy weed.

Time for a rest.

Wow now I've heard it all.

The Winz guy was meant to phone me at 11am no later than 11-30. Thankfully I decided to come home and wait.

Ended up I rang them, twice.

He finally phoned and said he had tried calling but the number was engaged.. I Said No it wasn't I didn't answer any or make any calls during that time he told me.

FAST AS he said Oh Id been calling the wrong number and it took a while to sort out..

Give him a Gold Medal for the 2 second dash lol

Anyway its sorted. They pay the shop directly which saves me another trip. And I told them they can deliver it any time after 12 noon tomorrow.

Cos Im finally getting two tyres for the car.

Now I need to dirty some clothes lol... nah while the sun shines the dryer wont be running until its too cold to have the wind blowing through lol

Scouting earlier for birthday gift for second eldest great grandson's next birthday, his 6th & farmers had a red spot sale so checked there first. Not a damn thing, so had a look in Whticoulls & found a crystal digging thingy so grabbed that, since he likes crystals.

Just a book each to get for those two birthdays & that'll be those two done & dusted. Will have to have a look which books I already have for the wee ones.

Totally agree.

The over the back Neighbour decided to cut the feijoa tree down yesterday.  It hardy ever fruited.

Meant I had to wait to call my sister in law, cos I wasn't willing to shut the house up to become an oven.

I think that's why I dont mind having crap hearing.

They day I got my disgustingly expensive Hearring aids I could hear everything in the car motor running, then we went into the warehouse and they spoke over the microphone and I just about jumped through the roof.

I prefer missing out on some things. And reading lips.. I can hear birds if Im outside.

Thats enough for me.

morning ladies Smile Sunrise has to be one of my favourite parts of the day Smile

It gets a tad noisy here with all the traffic, but we are used to it. When it is quiet for long periods of time, we know there is an accident somewhere.

It's a happy birthday to the Furry One today, can't believe we have had him 14 years. So much fun and energy lol. Would definitely have another Jack Russell when the time comes Heart

So far, we haven't caught the cat, we thought it was squashed on the road until we had a closer look, and it was the apple stealing possum. The juvenile hawk polished him off. They are truly beautiful birds.

We watched the NZ series about endangered species last evening and loved it. Couldn't help but smile at the dolphins as it reminded us of the dolphins we saw on our honeymoon.

No digging for me for two days, the pharmacist told me no heavy lifting or digging until then. And even then, I shouldn't. She said it was to let my body recover from the vaccination and better safe than sorry. Just as well I'm off to Hamilton today and it's supposed to rain tomorrow.

Nope, no seedlings, I ran out of scooter space, but a big chunk off the shopping list, so maybe tomorrow. Bargains at the fruit shop though, strawberry punnets five for a tenner - yum. Chicken salad for tea, wine stocked up and those second visit building washer people are still here, but hey, at least we are all clean and sparkly, and they have done my scooter bay for me, which should save me sweeping it out for a couple of weeks...

Does anyone here have Free Power Hours or Weekend etc?

Ive seen the advert for contact, Im already with them.

I just wonder if its worth it.

I like the sound of the free weekend than I could do everything at once. Washing, Drying, dishes, baking etc..

I think each power company does its best to get more customers. But there is no such thing as free. No free tv or appliances, no free power hours, no free anything. The cost is built in. And we pay it. But, if you threaten to change companies, politely, you can get a good deal from any of them, the competition is that keen. Just read the fine print, and be aware of contracts...

Yep I will be checking Hunni. Hence why Im asking on here and Facebook.

You can apparently still stay on the low user and have the weekend free.

But Ill also be talking to contact as well. Have been with them for  25ish now.

Because low user rates are no longer a thing, and because loyalty programmes like being a good budget maker are also now removed - courtesy of the government changes, my power bill over the last two years has gone from an average of $60 - $70 a month, to around $100. And will go up by another $10 over the rest of thus year, no matter which company I use. So, I moved to take advantage of a new customer offer that gives me bundling freebies, but on a twelve month contract, rather than a two year lock in. I use a lot of internet so opt for a good unlimited plan which is usually another monthly $100. With my new provider the savings I make on the reduced broadband charge plus the introductory credit offset the rising power account, so my budget stays about the same, $100 a fortnight coming out by automatic payment to keep my account well in credit so it is one worry I don't have if a vet bill or unexpected scoot cost comes up.

It really does pay to do what you are doing, research the offers, add up the numbers, and keep the contract as short as possible. Or none at all if you can get it. That way we can keep shopping around as things change. And they will!

morning ladies Smile We're in for some rain today, finally.

Genesis offers a power shout where you can book free hours, even up to an hour before you need/want them. They offer free hours every quarter or on some special occasions (like our anniversary with them) and you can build them up to use all at once or spread as many hours as you like over time. You have two years to use the hours. I've been using them this summer while we have the hose on the garden as we have to run the water pump and in winter, I'll use them so I can run the drier if needed. But I make sure I pick the 'expensive' times of the day to make the most of the 'free' time. I've also found Gensis have staff working 24/7 so when our power went out the other Sunday, I phoned and spoke to a real person. I think this is worth a wee bit more on the bill. As for bundles, Consumer said to look carefully at them as they may not be saving you much, if anything. We're with a rural internet provider as Spark et al were hopeless. Our internet is Wi-Fi, and we don't need cables. No interruption with speed or downloads and can change our plan anytime we like. No buffering like we used to have and once again, the phone is answered within a minute, and I speak to a real person if we have a query. I believe you get what you pay for.

It looks like it's going to be an indoor kind of day today. I'm finally having my haircut lol. My hairdresser was sick and had to postpone my last appointment. Whatever bug she had, it went right through her family. And I'll be able to cuddle one of the Furry One's brothers Heart Next to the Furry One, this little guy was my favourite lol. Full of trouble even at four weeks old Tongue

Morning everyone

Very overcast here but no rain yet.

Im a really low internet user. I'm with Skinny and have only had to buy extra twice. I pay $5 a month for my internet I dont leave it on all the time.

Power wise Im a scrooge. Always have been lol.. will certainly do all my homework.

Another question, when is the right time to prune Hydrangeas.. In asking Im trying not to say I think its dead, but it looks it. lol. and how hard do you cut them back? Yes I could look in my yates book, but the thought just popped into my mind now as I can see the brown withered up thing in the pot from where Im sitting.

My dryer will arrive today. And hopefully my Temu order. I got some bags to put the wool jackets in.

Have a wonderful day everyone

Edit to Add. I haven't taken an oxynorm since Friday and I haven't wobbled since. Its scary really to think of the times I've driven after taking them. And the dr wanted me to take two a day. ( Ive only ever taken one before driving.)

Im doing stretches and massaging sore bits to try and stop the need for the Oxys. and if I do need them I wont be going out with them in my system.

Its actually going onto the Drugged Driving list of Meds they can convict you of driving with them in your system.

Tipping down here, there was a break earlier so made a mad dash for the bread they didn't have yesterday. Managed to get that plus a couple of lightbulbs I forgot & managed to get home again before it started again. Very glad I did as the wind's picking up now; I think it might be our quite short rainy day walk for Madame le Dog & I later.

So much for today's plan to get more dreaded weeding done.

Where's the rain??? We had a 'shower' which was a few spits and that was it Sad Boy, we could use a few days of gentle rain.

Good on you for cutting back on the oxy, popeye.

Had my haircut but didn't get to see the Furry One's brother Sad And no cat in the trap. He's certainly a wiley one. The trap has to be returned tomorrow.

Yesterday Spotlight didn't have either of the green thread I need for this embroidery piece so I'll just have to potter on and do what I can without it for now. Otherwise, I may have to start another.
