You can never have enough...
Morning everyone

Its Wet.. Yayayay.. Grey and Wet.. Perfect lol.

Well I decided to rest my bones yesterday after two days with long standing periods. so I did quite a lot of the black background of the Missy Picture.

Watched the Cricket as well of course .

I wrapped my big toes in a honey poultice last night. Will see what they look like this morning. Never done it before. And it did feel rather decadent to be using Carons home grown honey lol. While they are still tied on nicely Ill leave them for a while tho.

Once Ive done my games Ill start some packing this morning. Cos alot of my stuff got sorted through it wont be as crazy as the last move. I did it all myself last time. so I may be nearly 6 years older and creaky but Ill get it done.

Thinking of having a Free Garage sale next weekend.. Other people might as well use the stuff I dont need anymore.

Have a fab day all

Bathrooms, The glass cupboard, All my shelves in the lounge, all Packed.

Once the need to be wrapped stuff is finished packing will just be dumping and labelling.

My once pretty lounge that finally looked good a couple of weeks ago now looks bare again lol.

But it will be worth it.

Its raining again. Quite cool.

But I think Ill do another hour or so. That will be enough for the bones.

Hadn't thought of dinner but I think I will get a piece of luncheon out of the freezer. I got some sliced as thick as ham steaks cos I've always loved fried luncheon. Might fry some in the bacon remains and have between toast with Vegemite lol..

Did loads of weeding last week but far too hot now - 3o!

Defnitely NOT cooking tonight, a sandwich & perhaps a bit of ice cream will do.

Finally got my debit card sorted, after some miserable sod had somehow got details & attempted to buy something in Noel Leemings. Declined, insufficient funds - ha! That'll teach them; & a good reminder to me never to keep much in that account.
To activate the new card I had to purchase something with eftpos, which I've never used. A friend suggested that rather than use it in the supermarket, I go somewhere else where they're not so busy, so i went to Whitcoulls, because I often shop there & the staff are lovely, & sure enough the very, very patient woman managed to help me without me mucking it up.
Worked a treat & I got a book for second youngest great grandson's next birthday so that's another one done & dusted.
in order to be old & wise, you must first be young & stupid. (I'm still working on that.)

Rain???? What rain??!!! A few spits this morning does not count!

The girls have been squished along with a cherry 'see you in two years' from the mammogram ladies as I left. We are so lucky to have the mobile truck come to town. This was my 7th mammogram according to their records.

I've dug up the knee high dahlias along the side of the garage and sprayed the twitch. That stuff is awful and hard to weed out completely. Two of my sisters-in-law have said yes to some of the tubers Smile We'll see them later this week, so they are all good to go. I also have the cafe-au-lait dahlia, big blousey, grey/lavender in colour, if anyone wants it. The flower is a tad fussy for me. And I've been put on the wait list for the rose New Dawn. A pale pink bossy climber to replace Albertine (also looking for a new home). MrK picked it out last year. I will have space for one more climber, but it has to be compact and not rambling.

I was very naughty and jumped on NZ Bulbs tulip truck mishap sale, 40% off 25 double lavendar, double purple, and single pinks tulip bulbs that literally fell off the trick and got all mixed up. Got in before they sold out too, so that's a big treat arriving once they've packed and posted. Then I'll put all the tulips in the fridge together and plant them out in early May with something nice on top, lobelia perhaps, or alyssum again. They will be stunning mixed in with my oranges and magentas from last year, everyone loved those, they were just so outrageously pretty. And the big golden daff bulbs arrived alongside the little blue muscari, so I went out in the drizzle and gathered up all the terracotta pots to get rain cleaned and soaked. I'll get the local to deliver some strawberry mix and some bulb food tomorrow evening, and start planting up later in the week. My strawbs have made so many runners - and are still giving me the tastiest berries, so I have decided to let them occupy one whole raised garden pot thingamie all to thenselves. It should be an ongoing supply of breakfast yummies from mid winter on, if I have relocated that garden thing to the right spot, sunny but sheltered. I shall collect winter leaves to make my own strawberry mulch. And the hedge hoglet we found in the garden yesterday will still be on snail and slug duty if I have my way, I topped up the cats water dish so at least it has that to sip from.

And my totally neglected japanese anenomes have flower buds. My garden knows when I need rewarding, lol. And I'm sorry km, we are still looking out at drizzle, it has been patchy but coming down all day. I have a doc apptmt tomorrow so hoping for a few dry scoot breaks, but the forecast is depressing. We will see...

Ill be hoping for a break in the rain too Hunni. But I have the car.

Ive managed to squish my toes several times today.

They are red, hot and horrible, I dont want to end up with Matching Legs. And for the sake of my heart valve I need to nip any infection in the bud so Ill go down for triage.

Im sitting in the dark with only the tv on. a long way away. Im quite chuffed at how Im typing without seeing too much of the keys lol

Ill only be taking my Violet and Daffodil pot, my chives and white Geranium. and I guess the odd plant that David gave me that is regrowing.. Not the hydrangea sadly lol

Have packed about half my cookbooks. Im giving a friend most of my Simon and Alison Holsts books.

My Air fryer is on its way, from Christchurch lol

morning ladies Smile We have the autumnal equinox this Thursday Big Grin It rained a bit last evening and I think overnight as well. Nice soft, gentle rain to soak into the ground. I tried to put the garden fork into the lawn the other day just to stand it up and the ground was rock hard.

You were lucky with your card, Lilith. Thieving bast****.

Wow, what a bargain for the tulips, OHH Smile I love it when plants become mixed up lol. Those colours will look stunning together.

Our resident piwakawaka is back flitting around. He hangs around one shady corner of the garden munching on the midgies and mozzies. We had a mozzie visit us over a few evenings but none since his visit.

A couple of evenings ago I spotted a mouse running down the hallway. The Furry One of course, ignored it. Obviously, it was too small to bother with. Yesterday morning I checked the trap and yep, got it. The peanut butter on the trap is old as the hills lol but still does the trick.

I need to do the recycling today as the car is finally going into the panel beaters this week. Those assessors are hopelessly slow. We're borrowing a courtesy car, and I don't want to load it up with recyclables. Fingers crossed MrK's walker will fit into the borrowed car.

Bargain indeed, 25 fat bulbs for $13.50! And dammit to pieces the rain forecast is for my appointment time, which is annoying, so I shall have to risk the bus and take things very carefully, and do the little bits of shopping and librarying later in the week. Irritating when best laid plains go awry. But the garden does need it. I have scattered a lot of broadleafed parsley seed through our gardens, and my stroll yesterday revealed it is coming up everywhere, which should mean our village sneak thief can access plenty without hauling my single plants out. It worked with the mint plants, we now have several pots of those strategically placed so with luck it'll work with the parsley too. Those of us who garden have learned to either put up with the raids on our produce, or make sure we keep plantings close to home!

My knitting is halfway back to where I ripped it down and working out much better, smaller needles and a seed stitch border mean the piece is sitting much flatter and the fabric coming off the needles is nicer in the hand. Should make a lovely wrap for the cool days, and keep my fingers happy in the making.

Good morning.

Gentle drizzle currently, hopefully it ramps up more. Not so good for Balloons over Waikato which starts today.

Good score OHH ... more colour to look forward to.

Nothing like shifting house to have a clean out Popeye, exciting times ahead for you. Is Missy watching you closely ... our pets were always very suspicious at packing up time!

An appointment today,  might get to the library as well ... I seem to have a few reject books lately which means a sooner trip back for more.

Closer now to the kind of weather I like to have some handcraft on the go. A new baby expected in the extended family which will be an incentive to get knitting.

Enjoy the day all.

The colours of the bulb flowers sound wonderful OHH

My boiled wool arrived lovely quality just not quite the colour I imagined from my screen. Will show to my brutally  honest sewing BF for her opinion DH says it looks ok but I can't always rely on his opinion regarding clothing colors  quilting ones yes

Off up the coast for quilt guild day meeting taking my knitting

Enjoy your  day

Morning everyone

Grey out one said and the sun up on the other.

Toes much improved this morning. So I think a day off the ground watching cricket will help them also.

Not enough colour garden wise where I am at the mo. The house next door has heaps of garden, but its a mess with very tall weeds, they dont do anything. Her Mother comes up once a year to tidy one part of it.

Did I say there weren't ANY Yuccas at the new house.. Yayay. Theres the same sharp succulent type thing in on corner and its actually growing under the footpath and breaking it. Ill chop that away. The paths down one side of the house are all broken, so Ill just walk on the grass when I do go out there.

So Im going to settle in and paint. I got sick of doing so much black last night that I opted to do Madams Nose. Its looking so cool.

Have a fab day all

morning ladies Smile We loved the bit of rain we had yesterday, more please!

Not a lot happening today, a bit of pottering about. The car is due to go into the panel beaters some time over the next few days, just waiting for the courtesy car to be returned. It will be nice to have it all repaired and painted.

I might finish cutting the iris' back, it won't take long to do and that's another thing ticked off the list. And when I'm 'resting' later, I'll work on a Plan B for the roses. I suspect the climbers I've ordered might be hard to get.

Yesterday I had to unpick some of the hardanger, typical lol. But I'm glad I did as I found another mistake further along. It's easier and quicker to unpick and redo rather than try and work around it.

Had an interesting conversation with my gp yesterday about organising a dnr on my records. It is the second time I have raised the matter, but this is a different doc, and a different response, much more positive. So having started the process I can now begin filling in my Advanced Care Directive paperwork that the librarians printed off for me a while back, and she will help progress that into the system for me. A good box ticked for me. She did point out though that I should get a Medic Alert bracelet to let ambos know, and then laughed when I suggested a wee tattoo on my wrist instead, a great excuse to get that bit of ink my rebellious self has always secretly wanted, lol... Maybe inside a little butterfly? Or a balloon? For freedom?

Morning everyone

We had more rain yesterday. You can almost hear the ground sighing of joy. Overcast here it wouldn't surprise me if it rained again.

I was going to take some stuff to a couple of friends today but I have to wait for a parcel to be signed for.

So Ill pack some more of the kitchen china. And the last of my cookbooks.

Ill also phone WINZ and a moving company. And then hand my notice in on this place. The minimum time is 4 weeks notice, but Im sure we had 6 weeks at the last house. Ill see what they want.

Im over half way on Missy the 3rd now and I Love it. did heaps yesterday while watching the on off cricket lol.

I wish I had got the tattoo I've always wanted, for my 40th birthday. But I chose a belly button piercing instead. and that wore out on the bench and now I dont have a belly button. And there's not a lot of tattoo artists who will work with people on Warfarin.

Go for it Hunni... If I could Id have my medic alert stuff tattood on me too.

Good morning.

A cool start today .... it looks a bit fresher outside with the rain that we have had ... could do with more to keep things growing.

Library this morning (I didn't get there yesterday) and will get our spare room ready for friends staying for a couple of days. Feijoas to stew - so good on our breakfast, I wish they grew all year long!  There is a bit of weeding to catch up on and baking to do.

That's a big decision to have made OHH, but good that you are being listened to and all is as you wish.

I clicked on the Skeinz merino sale and will have some knitting to get on with once the yarn arrives.

I've just had an email to say electricity prices going up .... as if the bill isn't big enough and it's not even winter  Angry

Better get moving, enjoy the day all.

Go for it, OHH Smile A butterfly would be lovely. Much more environmentally friendly Tongue lol We had the same issue with our previous doctor, changed doctors and now have a lovely female GP who totally 'gets' MrK's wishes. It's a matter of finding the right doctor for you. And it's not always easy changing due to waiting lists.

Mica I am getting the Flight Naturals Merino Lite 4 ply in Kokako colour ... making some wee vests. It was a bit dearer than another 4 ply but the laundry 'qualities' are better.

The doc did point out that in her opinion, gp s were more open to patient wishes than hospital based staff, especially in busy departments where time pressures could lead to automatic responses rather than checking background health records - hence the need for a really easily seen reminder of a patient's choice on resus decisions. Next visit in three months we'll go through my ACD choices and finalise those, things like treatment options under various scenarios.

I was quite impressed by the way she handled this, better I think than my last doc.
