You can never have enough...
Praktica, thanks so much for that info.

morning ladies Smile Another frost!

I'm glad you had a fab day yesterday, popeye Smile

Thanks for the info about oven thermostats, we've had to replace our oven twice over the years as it was cheaper to buy a new oven. We have three ceramic top cookers over the years now, and I love it.

MrK is in hospital, they think he has a blockage somewhere. Tests will be done today but the cathator (sp, brain is all over the place) has given him some relief. I wanted to get him into the hospital days ago, but he refused to go. Once blood clots started appearing I really got stroppy lol. I'll be heading up to Waikato later Smile Because of the clots they also think his warfarin may be an issue. 30 years of taking it and he may need a medication change.

The new washing machine is arriving tomorrow, thank goodness. One more day at the laundromat lol. Yesterday I used their drier for the first time and omg it was fast. I'll remember their big washers and driers for when the bedding needs washing.

Morning everyone

I Love my hea tpump lol... But I should probably leave it on over night lol.

Ohh Kiwimade men are stubborn creatures aren't they. I hope they can blast his Clots away. Does he also take aspirin? I never thought you could have both but you can. I do. Hopefully they will sort him quickly.

We are off to the oppy this morning, might do both.

My lawn should be done today. It is nice seeing someone else doing it.. I Like mowing lawns but dont like "Having" to. And I wouldn't want to mow this one its steeper than the last.

Have an awesome day everyone

Good morning.

It's cold but no frost ... on the lawn at least,  not like the good one yesterday.  Lovely days after though.

We were out exploring yesterday,  no plan yet for today. The mirror-like lakes are lovely with the autumn colours reflected.

Glad Mr K is in the best place for treatment ... he must be one stoic man! Sometimes their own worst enemy though! You will appreciate your new washing machine once you have it. That's a good plan re large items that need washing ... in the past I've had to hand wash in the bath as they were too big for my machine.

I think I've had one thermostat "go" after years of oven owning.  I don't remember replacing the oven though.

Time for school.

Enjoy the day all.

Scoot comes back from repair today, bill budgeted for and paid and my phone dies. Isn't it always the way. Still, I suspect it has been on the way out for a while, because I was having difficulty hearing any caller voice on the thing, and beginning to think I needed a hearing check... Bloody machines. It was so much simpler when life wasn't so smart filled. Still I can manage without for a little while, and then grab a cheap one that doesn't have the bells and whistles. I only use it for calls and texts after all. The tablet is far more heavily used.

Annoying though.

Overcast cool 9 degrees

Glad you gotcstroppy KM and MrK is receiving care hope the medics can sort him quickly. Have used the laundromat  for bedding that didn't fit our washing machine. Fortunately vour current one  has the capacity  to take our bigger items  thanks to sales person who asked if we wanted to be able to do that the extra cost wasn't  great either.

Glad thatvyou had a good day  Popeye.  Heatpumps are great  we just lower the  temp to 16 overnight thats the lowest ours will go to on heat setting.

Out  for lunch meeting a couple of friends. We meet once a month and take turns at choosing  where we go.  The challenge is to find somewhere we haven't  been TG Wellington has a plethora  of cafes Big Grin

Might pop into Kmart shortly need some new sleepwear and like knit fabric not flannel and they look like they have some.

Enjoy  your day

Hope Mr K is on the mend now. And hope Hunni's ph situation is sorted.

Did dreaded shopping earlier, won't be doing much more today. There's a rumour that the Woolworths supermarket me be relocating to further away later in the year - hope its wrong, that would make ot more difficult to access but will see what happens.

Had a bit of fun with DIL yesterday; she likes to tease me about being slightly weird. Yesterday she sent me this thing about how the colour purple (my favourite) doesn't really exist..

https://www.popularmechanics.com/science...e-is-fake/

So I had to remind her that its not my fault, its the ancestry which is to blame; the Welsh national animal is a ... dragon, yep a fictional animal. On their flag.
And the Scots - well, their national animal is a Unicorn which is another fictional animal so naturally I reminded her about her mostly Scots ancestry.
And tried not to laugh too much.

Mind you, i have a tiny bit of Norwegian ancestry - & those people are completly nuts, utterly bonkers.

There's this penguin...lives in the UK, in Edinburgh, known as Brigadier Sir Nils Olav. Baron of the Bouvet islands. The THIRD!!

Interestingly enough Practica, that is one I considered but the screen is just too small for me once I have no contact lenses in, so I have picked up a refurbed Samsung A03s from reebelo for $170 odd. It is very like the dead one so the case should swap over, and I won't need to relearn any how to's lol. Fortunately I don't have a lot on the shopping list for this fortnight so with a bit of discupline I will be fine. It's just really annoying!

As for national beasties, people are still trying to persuade me the haggis is not an animal, so believing in unicorns is not hard for me at all. And everyone knows the Scots never tell fibs.

lmao at Brigadier Sir Nils Olav The Third, Baron of the Bouvet islands, what a hoot!

It's always something isn't it. Just when you think things are on the right track.

MrK is home Smile We go back next Tuesday to have the catheter removed and he is on a heavy dose of antibiotics for three weeks. The District Nurse will be here tomorrow to show us how to empty it and so on. We are so lucky with our health system. For all its faults, it is far better than most.

The washing machine arrives between 12 - 1.00pm tomorrow. I have cleaned where it will go and emptied the draw under the tub, put the draw in another room for now and cleaned there are well. They will even take the old machine away. Our neighbour whose fence was smashed to smithereens has repaired it and only the van's skid marks are left to show where the accident happened.

Ahhh, but did you know their uphill side legs are shorter than their downhill? So any predator thinks they are just a flat place on the side of a hill. Not yumminess on legs needing only a pot of hot water and a bunch of neeps to warm the cockles of a highlander's heart...

It certainly brightened my day, when I found that.

Good that Mr K is doing reasonable well.
We are indeed lucky with our health system; I only hope it can continue to be improved rather than being gutted.

So, the scoot is home. Now, I sent off a machine that was making weird noises and had a power surging issue, and a wobbly basket, but was otherwise quiet and well behaved if a bit loose in the joints. Bit like me really.

I got back this tightened up, mean machine, that emits hideously loud beeping noises when required to back up, but works perfectly. And has a new basket. With every bolt tightened so no old lady can make adjustments to this perfection.

I shall have to work out how to park without reversing, if I do not want to upset the neighbours. Damn that excellent mechanic, lol...

Make sure you put the pest protection grid on the bottom of the washing machine, it is supplied in the packing. It is not always obvious that one is in the box inbetween folded cardboard. Mine was thrown away and had to get another one from the shop.

I have been present at two different types of washing machines being supplied quite recently, they were dropped off by delivery truck and the grids were not mentioned or installed and were left in a pile together with the packing materials.

It's to keep mice and rats from climbing in and eating the internal wiring as they are wont to do.

One machine was a Haier and the other a Samsung.

Glad MrK is home, with equipment on board.

We are indeed lucky to have the free health system .

Glad the skoot is home Hunnie.. Ohh be a devil and reverse the whole way down the driveways lol..

We had a lovely time at the oppies. I foubnd the two bowls Id seen online red and white dots and stripes.. But my best buy was a White with thin red lines, Coffee pot, Teapot, Milk Jug, sugar bowl and two trios of cup saucer and plate.. All for $11... Filled two shelves on my wall.

I Also found the cup that matched a teapot from one of those cup teapot and plate sets. Fanny wanted the teapot bit I said ill have a nosy see if I can find the cup. And I found it in one of the boxes.. So a good score for her..

The Funny things is, I have my collections of tea and coffee cups etc.. Many now. And I dont drink either lol. One of the first sets MrP brought me the cups are all pastel colours but they have Mother of pearl in the middle. But Ive lost two cups over the 35ish years.

We are off to Bingo in the morning and then Fanny will leave.. I admit to not being very happy with her at the mo. Im not her slave but she has sat there all day since we got home playing games online. Didn't offer to help with the dishes. No thank you kiss my Butt for her meals. At least hopefully she wont be up next year.. She will be turning 65 so Im guessing will spend that with her family.

Rant over.. but I get annoyed cos I let it happen.

Good morning everyone.

A chilly grey start.

Off to bingo this morning.. I have to chase her tho.. She MUST sit and write out her bible versus before she does anything.

Im itching to get into unpacking and finding my things I need like my Magnesium supply.. Although I will probably stop at the chemist and get some.

I actually feel very content when I see my shelves, exactly how I always wanted them.. Had to wait a long time, but it was worth it lol..

Twin bro was down last night. He didn't get the same birthday wishes as I did. He thought our nephew had forgotten him, but I found that for him, but two of our Aunts had.. That is another thing we re different in.. Although I was upset when no one had told me about our cousin passing.

Have a fab day everyone.. Fingers crossed I win an addition to the chocolate supply lol.

morning ladies Smile gosh it is cold out this morning.

We've been up since 2.00am with me calling the ambulance at 2.45am. MrK's wee wasn't passing through the bags, wasn't even entering the lines at all. I didn't want to fiddle around with the bags so called the ambulance. The officers flushed the line but there was lots of blood so off to hospital he went with me in hot pursuit. He's still in the ED, I've come home as the washing machine is being delivered shortly, and he needs his phone charger. Still waiting for the doctor as I left. The Furry One was very good up until the officers helped MrK into the ambulance, then he growled at them. He has never done that before. Mind you, he hasn't sat in his 'protective pose' inside the house before either but did the first night MrK was in hospital.

I'm shattered but have another trip to Hamilton after the machine has been installed. I told MrK DON'T tell them you want to come home! STAY PUT!!

Anyhoo, I'll try and have a bit of a kip after lunch.
