Slept 14 hours last night, and still feel tired, this truly is a ridiculous bug. On the good side another couple of kilos have gone west so not a total waste of time, that makes twenty since the new hip went in. Makes a difference that lack of pain.
On the to do list today is to shower and wash all this hair without falling over, so I may be some time., lol...

Try to take it easy Hunni as far as you can, anyway. At the least, its an excellent excuse to read lots.
Second eldest great grandson's 6th birthday today so they came to visit & pick up loot - his big brother (about to turn 8) is damn near as tall as I am; I'm betting he's going to be a six footer, & probably his little bro as well. No idea where the years went
And interestingly, no parental comment on the slime...I don't think they noticed.
They will...

I am so glad I indulged in that cheap Disney sub, I cannot focus on the page at the moment, but ridiculous movies are perfect.
Showered, clean hair, even did the litter box and the dishes before the energy ran out. Bumped that up with a quick mushroom omelette and coffee - funny thing, tea tastes weird at the moment - and that is it I think for the day.
Boy it is wet out there. Bet there are streams through the grass on our little park but I am too cosy to get up and look...

morning ladies The rain has eased off for now, it's still pretty wet out there though. The Kaimai Ranges were closed again last evening due to a nasty accident.
We got home around 4.00pm, so a long day waiting and waiting. The slow cooker smelt great as we walked in That was a good idea by me. MrK is pleased to be home and the Furry One was very happy to see him.
Today I'll catch up with washing and potter about. No doubt, MrK will be needing help as well. His orthopedic appointment is next week. It has been a very long 12 months just to get to this stage.
I think meal portions have been my problem this winter as well, popeye. And the stress of MrK. It's funny as while he was in hospital, I had very few heart flutters. I see our GP soon to review this new medication, so I'll talk to her about it. I've told MrK not to come with me. He feels as I go with him (he misses a lot!) as an extra pair of eyes and ears he should do the same for me.
Coffee and washing machine are finished, time to crack on

Good morning.
How nice to see the sunshine ... very wet underfoot after all day heavy rain. The garden is waterlogged.
Yesterday we were lucky we had just warmed our lunch soup before a power outage for nearly 2 hours ... still way better off than those enduring floods ... again.
A long day for you KM ... I bet the Furry One was happy to see all home again.
Pot of vege soup is on and hopefully the washing can be hung on the line. One vest finished and will start the next later.
Yes, winter a time for a bit more on the plate ... I've made a few puddings as well with the extra people around ... a treat in this house!
Better make the most of the day.

(This post was last modified: Yesterday, 08:56 AM by Oh_hunnihunni.)
Back to weird sleep pattern and up at dawn, but it was lovely, calm and quiet. Today I get dressed in real clothes, not just a fresh set of the nice soft kmart sleep pants and a light merino. The ones with holes are perfect sleepwear...
But I need some colour, so real clothes it is. Soon.

Morning everyone
Madam is happy. The sun is shining in the bedroom. I wont see much of her while its out.
Being the carer is harder on your system than you think. I know I had people tell me and I brushed it off, but it is. I always went to MrP's drs appointments cos he always lied.. He started coming to mine as I got deafer, one thing that Never failed him was his ears lol. And it also meant he knew what the Dr said and that I wasn't lying.
Ill never forget my GP siting there crying with me when I was soo worn down from looking after MrP and my mother. he said I needed 2 weeks away from them. I said that wouldn't work Id be worried as to which one would be alive when I got home. he said 2 days? I said nope but I could leave them for a day and I did. I went shopping, met up with a friend for lunch which wasn't planned we just happened to be a couple of doors away from each other.
Another time I came out of the super clinic with a warning from the Cardiologist that I needed to put my health first or I wouldn't be there for them. I told them straight up and the shocked looks on their faces proved I got the point home. not that Much changed.
I know your garden is your solace Kiwimade, just be careful.
I had a very lazy day yesterday, so the dishes are still waiting but they will be done before the games today. Was Fannys fault she rang just as I was getting up to do them.
One should not be wide awake at 1-20 am, hence the late start today.. oops.
Bright clothes doo lift your spirits which is why I hardly ever wore black.. Now its always the main colour in the shops.
Have a wonderful day everyone

It is so good to see the sun I know tomorrow the rain will be back. Coming home from Hamilton yesterday was awful with the rain, the road was so slippery. Could hardly see cars in front of us at some stage. And still people were driving without their lights on. Or only had one headlight working. Insane! Why on earth would you do that.
Washing is all caught up and the floor mopped. And a small bit of ironing done.
Good to hear you are starting to feel well enough to get dressed, OHH
The Furry One and MrK are asleep on the sofa The Furry One is very happy to have his routine back lol.
I'm going to top up our water bottles and the kettle 'just in case'. No power = no water.
Gosh, that back packer in Aussie was so lucky to be found alive. Someone was looking over her, that's for sure.

At last, the sun! So welcome after all the rain & wind & general grey clouds.
Glad you're on the mend Hunni.
Friday funny yesterday has George Carlin,Losing things, Billy Connolly on Evangelicals & Blackadder, sensible policies.

morning ladies More rain today, I think.
MrK has settled back home and is counting down to his orthopedic appointment. Hopefully we will come home from that with a plan.
I'm going to turn the left over roast chook into soup for dinner this morning. An easy dinner with toast and no need for a microwave I don't even have to make the stock as I spotted some in the freezer.
Yesterday I got back to stitching the sea horse. Am much happier with it now, unpicking some of it was a good idea. And MrK's suggestion I use orange was inspired lol. It lifts the whole piece. Sometimes another set of eyes does the trick.
Spoke to one of my sisters-in-law and she was saying her power bill has doubled this month. The only thing she has changed was turning on the gas heater for a few hours in the evening. I know gas has gone up in price but that was ridiculous.
Well, so much for that bit of sunshine. The fog has come down.
Time to get moving

Good morning.
The sun has disappeared and it's cold. Good thing I nominated today for a power free day (Mr R's birthday) ... can keep warm and get washing washed and dried Will get in some oven use while I'm at it!
Nothing planned ... good thing to have knitting and books on hand ... Mr R will potter in his man- cave no doubt. Takeaways later.
Stay warm all.

Funny how our eyes spot useful things when our minds are focussed - I started knitting a cuffed shawl from scrap yarns in colours I rarely use, wines, golds, and blues - as a sample to check my design idea. Narrow striped cuffs widening out into a soft draped shawl shape across the back. I got fed up with the big triangles being such a pain to keep wrapped... Anyway, I am very happy with the initial cuff into softer drape fabric idea but was wondering about the palette, almost in two minds, and then I came across an image of rust dyed fabrics with turquoise stone jewelry against denim and boy it was beautiful. And I realised why I was in two minds, might not be my usual brights, but it is a gorgeous combination, and it works.
So today I am going to put together all the yarns, and even rip down a couple of other lesser used knits to add to the stash and see if my ancient Kafe Fassett trained strategies can be applied to make this bigger project a reality.
It's interesting how lying here listening to my lungs squeak between coughing bouts is letting me play with ideas in my head, as frustrating as the lack of energy is, it isn't a waste of time...

Good afternoon everyone..
Lol its 10-13 and Ive just finished breakfast.
Glad you are back into the routine Kiwimade
Happy Birthday to MrR.
Im sure you will enjoy your colours Hunni, this bug certainly is hanging around.
I did quite a bit of painting yesterday. nighttime means I do the ones with the white symbols, the darker symbols are easier to see during the day. Think I have about 2 sessions to go. Cos some of the colours are largish areas which you save time by not having to change colours.
I then have to seal some pictures and paint the borders. I have a birthday present one for the 23rd of this month. And I need some pictures on the walls.
If its not raining yet it wont be far away, very dull and grey here
Dinner is done so its really is a lazy day.
Have a fab day all

Morning all
Torrential rain over night brighter out now with the sun trying to peek out between clouds.
OHH your plotting and scheming project sounds cool.
We having BBQ chicken tonight so chicken soup on the menu later this week.
Jeans finished and in wardrobe
Been swiatching to get correct gauge for next knitting project using the 5ply navy merino possum wool thatvI got last year at wool woollen mills sale. Its knitted top down and no needle size given other than to knit swatch in round and soak 20 minutes and measure when dry. My 3 swatches are currently drying.
The last knit for me I did couple years ago in lovely red alpaca and it was too big. Prior to that it had been at least two decades since I knitted for me This is the pattern https://www.woolenberry.com/knitting-pat...r-weather/
I am figuring I can try this one on once I get past the armholes.
My energy levels subliminal this morning so going to read for a bit battling allergies.
Keep dry and warm
