Morning everyone
Nippy this morning, but the sun is still there.
Glad the Kuri is settling in Mica, The feline will just have to like it or lump it lol.
My property is surrounded by a black metal fence, and Ohh the spiders love it. Both sides are draped in webs. almost makes me want to do Halloween again.
Today is games day but Ill get the plant and hot water cupboard done first, when Ive finished breakfast.
Have a fab day all

One thing about spiders, they do not live in cold damp houses. Sensitive apparently to molds. So not necessarily a bad thing to have a few around!

I didn't know that Hunnie.
The last house was brick and always had good cobwebs inside and out.
This one not so on the inside.

I got an email from my reliable friend who was hunting down the braiser for me, to say she had it and the two little pots as well, so that's my self indulgence for the week. If it is half as good as the baker at providing a nice even heat I will be very happy. I am guessing the solid enamel over the ceramic is the magic ingredient because my other enameled terracotta bake dish isn't nearly as heavy or as efficient, and is definitely showing wear. I might just ditch that piece in favour of these new pieces. Mind you going on the retail prices of these, no wonder the quality is very different. And no wonder they are high priced on Trademe, must admit I got a bit of a shock from my googling.
Definitely going to have to up my cooking game to keep up, lol. But meanwhile the burbling pot with the corned beef, and the slow baking vegie casserole in the oven is warming my soul. That'll do me for three dinners plus a good lunch, so it can storm all it wants outside, I will be well fed and well read if the library pile proves worth the effort till at least coffee and cake day!

morning ladies We had quite the wild, wooly night last night and the wind is still blowing.
We have a big, heavy, ceramic casserole dish I bought for our son but acquired when he moved. We just love it. Can sear on the cook top before throwing in the oven. And it's a pretty blue (not that that makes any difference to the cooking lol).
We learned yesterday our neighbour was in a head on collision the other day. She's shaken up pretty badly and has a fractured hand and her three kids are bruised and shaken as well. The other driver crossed the center line. Her car has been written off, thank goodness for insurance. It could have been so much worse. And they are moving in a couple of weeks We will miss them terribly.
Time to get moving, MrK needs my help

Morning all
Slight sprinkle of rain no wind yet forecast for heavier rain later today
Listening to Popeye and KM about carer being valuable I discussed this with my friend whose DH had an incident in January was in hospital intensive care on andnoff and beennin rehab since Easter. He hopefully will be home soon. Given your comments I advised her to ask ACC for carer for DH and home help for the house. She hadn't considered that anyhow she asked and she will be getting both. I also said since she will be home more she should buy the new sewing machine she has been coveting - that arrived yesterday
Thinking of going to local shops and visit Farmers merino greatly reduced might be worth a look. An in doors activity
Enjoy your day

Good morning.
Wild, wet and windy.
Back from grocery shop ... nearly always members of the local Constabulary hovering around the cabinet food/coffee area which is at the top of the stairs as you walk in. Today there must have been nearly a dozen of them. Lol, feel safe in the supermarket!
Gosh Mica, a classical case of 'if you don't ask' you don't get!
Thanks for the whisk idea OHH, I will keep my eye open for a cheapie one ... a good way to contain that fruit.
An awful experience for your neighbours KM ... it's frightening that the risk is so high driving on the road
Definitely an inside day.
Stay warm and dry all.

Good morning everyone
She's wild and wool out there today. Im surprised the lawn man didn't turn up yesterday.
Glad your friend has listened Mica. They are there to help and it also keeps them employed. And if my friend in Taranaki can get them, anyone can. She has two ladies come daily to put on and take off her compression stockings.. If she was to lose weight she would be able to do them herself. She blames her hands but she still crochet's, knits and do countless hours diamond painting. I've never heard her complain about her hands.
She is in for a shock when she has her knee done that's for sure. I was prepared with exercise's etc. She goes to the hospital to exercise 1 day a month.
Got quite a bit of my picture done yesterday. I should finish it today / tonight.
My latest Temu order will arrive today. I've sort of turned into my mother Argghhh!!!!!!! I ordered silk white roses and red primroses for the large vase that was my step grandmothers. I say sort of cos my mother liked Plastic flowers.. I haven't gone that far lol.
I wanted Purple Irises but they were rather expensive. Im getting a bit of Oasis from Gayle, not today tho, cos Im not going out in this weather and she is at dialysis today. I wont go there unless she is there.
Oh My baking trowel works wonderfully.. Presses things into the pans much better..
Have a wonderful day everyone

I am so glad your friend is having help, mica. It's as much for her as it is for him. Tell her to take the time they are there for herself. Go for a walk, sew, do whatever makes her happy. Our doctor told me to do one thing for myself everyday. If I miss a day, the next day, do two. And good advice about buying the sewing machine

The purple hat arrived this morning, and it fits! That is the good news. The other news is how dreadfully dusty/dirty it is and faded to almost grey on the crown - it always amazes me how clever some sellers are with photographing for sale, lol... And not mentioning flaws... So, I have undone the stitching holding the flowers in place, given it a good brushing, and have ordered some deep purple Rit liquid dye which I will use to recolour all the felt so it is one even tone. Then I shall make new pretties to attach, then I'll feel much happier about wearing it out in public. It deserves so much better than those old tatty bits.
But it fits! Which, considering my oversized skull is a really nice and rather rare thing!

Good luck with the pirple hat, Hunni, hope it turns out well.
Dreaded groceries done, moved more violets, done, cutting back a bit more ivy, done. Feeling ever so virtuous, may have to have a bit or two of Whittakers dark block which was on special this morning.

Like you Hunnie I have a slightly larger then normal Noggin.. Just means we either have more brains or like our brains to have room to move lol.
Disappointing how people sneak better than the condition photos on TM.
But Im glad you are having a play with it and will make it look awesome.
Fantastic news.. Dianne doesn't have Liver cancer.. YAYAYAYAY
They thought it may have travelled through her body but they did an MRI last week and its clear other than having a dickie vein.
So now on Friday they will go in and take out more of the lymph nodes and then decide if she will need chemo or Not.
So at the Mo we are Flying high with Happiness
Wow Sir Micheal Hill has died.
Wow he was 86.. I wouldnt have thought he was that old

My skull has room for all the hot air I generate, popeye. My brain is a completely normal size. The skull thing is genetic. My grandfather had the same thing. Fortunately, I am not bald, lol, he used to say all the heat underneath burned off the roots...
Generating hot air is genetic it seems.

morning ladies Wow, just wow, at the storm we had yesterday and into the wee hours this morning. At 1.00am we had the heaviest rainfall we have seen for years. It hammered down. Even the power lines were arcing a very pretty blue. I wouldn't have wanted to be outside in that weather.
MrK's caregiver comes this morning. While she is here, I'll get a few things done outside, weather permitting. The last three piles of weeds need to be binned, and Albertine sliced and diced into smaller bits so she also fits into the bin. And I need to buy some dripping for the bird feeder today. I'll put extra apples out to try and make up for not having any.
I've thrown the seahorse into the naughty corner. For some reason I just can't feel inspired by it. I love the design and the colours but have no motivation to work on it. MrK says it's because it doesn't have a specific purpose and I think he's right. I will go back to it, just not now. And my idea for the family tree doesn't look like I thought it would when put on paper and will need more thought. I'll work on something useful for now while the ideas percolate in this head. The once piece I would love to do has bargello and metallic threads, I've had the pattern since the 1990's. It's going to cost a bit to do and will have to wait a tad longer as I gather all the pieces bit by bit.
The Furry One wants to do the garden 'rounds', we do this every morning. Even in yesterday's weather lol. Heaven help me if it's not done lol. I don't think there was any damage overnight but good to check and see. Ohhh and our dud fence is still standing - my bracing is still holding

Some days I wake up to a big dose of the blues, and so it was this morning until I got up and opened the curtains to a freshly washed and pressed blue sky and winter trees, no big ball of misery could withstand the promise of that kind of new day. Today I will coffee and cake with my ladies, library to collect a handful of good reads, and do a quick trip down the meat chillers to top up the freezer drawer. If I get it right my New World dollars will ramp up by another thirty odd, in their latest bonus offering and my Christmas spend up will look even more economical. Then over the next few days I shall be playing with the mad hat, with both dye and purple grosgrain ribbon on their way to me, I just need to decide what kind of fripperies from my stash of goodies to add to that starting point.
A creative challenge is a good way to improve mood!

Good morning.
24 hours of rain and it's still going strong! Have to feel for the calving season now well under way.
I'm sure you will have the hat looking the way you want OHH ... an added pain if it hadn't fitted.
I saw some tenacious little waxeyes swinging in the wind and rain yesterday as they pecked away at the orange pieces on my hanging bird feeder. Will don brolly and gumboots to refresh soon.
A good lot of rhubarb picked the other day and more to harvest ... the sheep pellets obviously did a good job. Only spinach and kale in production with leeks coming on.
Another day indoors until the rain let's up. More baking needed, some admin and there is a good book on the go.
Stay warm and dry all.

Good morning everyone
So pleased the sun is out, it makes Madam happy.
Had an early well 7-05 text this morning. David replying about Dianne. I said yeah its awesome but Im asleep catch up later lol.. I dont do early mornings in winter even if it isn't cold today. Im going to vacc when done on here.
Fanny rang late in the afternoon yesterday. She is disgusting me at the mo. She charges an older woman in a rest home $30 for a trip to the same place she is going. And That really disgusts me.. And apparently she only gave her $20 and Fanny told her well there goes her Food money cos she HAS to pay the other $10 in gas.
I bit my tongue , and then had to bite it again cos she asked for something next time I do a temu order. I said Im not doing any for a while I want to save... she didn't take the hint so I changed the subject.
The lawn has been done, it takes them 18 minutes on a ride on.
My flowers arrived yesterday, I have to put the primrose heads on the stalks lol.. Ill do those today and stand them all in jars to relax a little, until I get the Oasis.
Have an awesome day everyone
