That's good, mica. We've taught our boy 'leave it' and it's pretty much the only command he listens too. Handy if he has something he shouldn't.
Second wheelie bin full of the cut up shrub with room to spare for our weekly rubbish. Now only the last bucket of sand to dump and the concrete pieces to get rid of. Slowly getting these 'winter' outdoor jobs done.
Still waiting for MrK's caregiver...

I save my passwords so I can look them up on my google account, makes life a lot easier. I also have them written down, but then I'd have to remember where I put that list... Depressing day out there so I shall stay in, make lots of coffees, play with the pink jacket, and maybe vac. And I should wash the vac filters, I meant to do that last weekend, but I just sat in the sun and read instead. Lazy woman!
My daughter messaged me last night, to show me her birthday present. An enormous shiny black 2025 four wheel drive V8 Nissan Patrol Warrior. I daren't look up how much those things cost...

Woo-hoo on a winning streak at Housie, won 6 lines and 4 Houses and one of the raffles...
Thats got the choccie bin full lol. Oddly Im more into Apples these days .
Always have fun. One of the ladies who wasn't there last month cos she was in England was saying just how hot it was, Kinda spoilt a bit of her holiday cos it was uncomfortable.
My two school friends thar are in Europe are both enjoying the heat, they will freeze when they get back home.
Seems heat pumps are moody, cos we couldn't feel the heat in the hall, where as last month it got really warm.
Time to check things and them swap the lappys to do my games
They told me I couldn't, so I did.!!

Good for you Popeye - I gave up on things like that when (after years of getting the odd lotto ticket) it finally dawned on me that i don't win money. The one & only time I did was when I went halves with a boyfriend years ago who was one of those tinny ones who was always winning a bit on lotto or horses, & we won $100. Can't even remember what I spent it on now.
Woke up with a cold, the first Iv'e had for ages so haven't done much, apart from a bit more on the ivy & digging up a few raspberry plants for a granddaughter.

It had been a week from hell.. The Lawnmower caught fire, A friend borrowed the trailer and the axle broke, The washing machine died. Our Budgie died and MrP's ex wife moved into town.
I got a new washing machine lol.. we wont $600. The most Ive won ever

Oh be careful with the bugs - I am super careful now after the winter from hell. Lemon honey all round...
Having great fun with the pink jacket, I have started overstitching the appliqued silks and adding weird odd bits purely in stream of consciousness fashion. Just as the mood takes me - all while listening to a Diary of a CEO podcast about the advent of artificial intelligence with one of the google designers. He predicts we are falling headfirst into massive disruption, capitalist collapse, dystopia followed by utopia - if we are sensible. I sit here stitching and thinking well no robot can do this, because there is no logic behind the way I work, it is all just because it pleases me. And the mistakes are the whole point.
The journey so far...

morning ladies It's building up for rain, just when I feel the need to get the sledgehammer out and bash the last of the concrete pieces.
Hope you are on the mend quickly, Lilith
I won $600 on the Melbourne Cup a few years back, also the most I have won on anything. I only bet once a year on the cup and we rarely buy a lotto ticket.
Love the jacket, OHH I'm not a fan of pink but I do love that 'hot' pink. Can't wait to see it further down the stitching process.
Today I need to phone our district nurse and see if MrK's personal care can be continued until he has had his hip done. This was only for four weeks to help him recover from his hospital stay. When talking with the nurse a few weeks ago, she sounded positive and said we should be able to have the extension.
I was going through my patterns yesterday and I may have started a small hardanger piece lol. It won't take long to do. It's quite lacy and I haven't used this stitch in this way before so something a bit new. And it's a chance to use up some of my stash.
Might give hanging the washing out a whirl and see if it can dry before it rains. Even half dry would be good.

There is a tiny patch of blue out there anid all the low cloud, but it is very tiny. I made a peach crisp last night to have with my leftover toad in the hole and added a few fat blackberries I had forgotten I had in the freezer, boy it was yummy. Enough for tonight too, if it survives that long. The blackberries were an extravagance last summer, I got a bit carried away when I saw them because they remind me so much of childhood foraging trips when my Mum would hand us each a billy can and tell Dad to take us out in the car to the country roads to fill them up with fruit. She just wanted a day off I think, but those days are burned into my memory banks. We'd come home sun burnt, dusty and scratched up but then we'd feast on apple and blackberry pie while she washed the rest ready to make jam...
They go well with peaches too!

Morning all
Overcast no wind
Like to colour of your jacket OHH. Cant beat a good feed of blackberries. We usually get a good haul here. DGD1 loves them and we pick and eat from the bushes that line the walk/cyleways here.
Picked up DH new phone and then had an adventure locating unit in an industrial area for a tech to transfer the stuff from his old phone. Worth the $25 cost.
Just getting organised in my sewing room after lunch and DD phoned asking if I wanted to go look at curtain fabric with her. DD starts a new job today.
My morning at the warehouse and supermarket run this afternoon.
The k9 got himself stuck on DH desk yesterday silly as he could easily get off the way he got there. It used to be a favorite spot for k9 to sit and watch the street activities . The feline is slowly thawing
Enjoy your day

Morning everyone
We had some sun but its not wet yet.
My Fave pink Hunnie, I have a knitted jacket in that shade. it doesnt have buttons but has a knitted frill all the way around it. one of two the other is red and sparkly. Its an easy knit and looks good. But they are becoming too big.
I need to remember I have my Jackets from Mum to wear when its bitterly cold. And I could break out a couple of brooches I have.
Talked to David for a catch up last night. nothing changes at the hell home. Not that we expected it would. we talked about colleen leaving and we all agree it could be a wrong move, But that it will be good for Caron to be released from the work and worry that goes with it all. He was saying when she got back from her Long british holiday she looked relaxed and happy but gone backwards again.
He was saying 4 people have died in Mums old room since she died. I bet the manager doesnt tell anyone that.. dear old bernard Batty who was a lovely man but turned into a dirty old man, his lovely wife was there in mums room for 4 days and Bernard died, then 4 days later she died.. They were a loving couple well in excess of 60 probably closer to 70- years married. Im glad they are together now tho.
Oddly Max was snoring in the background, rare for me to hear anything but man he is loud. I said I hope he doesn't sleep in his room. Bella takes the bed, Max has the floor. lol.. Id never sleep with that noise lol.. or it would take a long time to get used to it, but apparently he snorts like an old man too lol.
Dianne is suffering I wish she would go to the dr, she said her surgery is fine its the back. Im going out to see her tomorrow we miss seeing each other and she needs a hug. They were talking about the home last night. she said Paul said it would be over his dead body that she would end up there, she isn't going anywhere. and I know he would cope with looking after her too.
Right I better get sorted and go do some shopping. I dont need alot but its all the expensive stuff. so Ill nip over to Pukekohe.
Have a fab day all

Ventured out this morning scouting for birthday gift for third eledst granddughter. Came home with birthday gift for ther eldest instead; well he insisted on being born on his Mum's birthday. He'll be two & that's most of his gift sorted just need a book for him as I already have a sort of wheatbag teddy for him, the sort which can be warmed up & taken to bed when its cold.
I was quite knackered by the time I got home so won't be doing much more today, the sun's come out so that's a plus.

Im glad Im home, did just a bit too much today I think.
But everything is inside, dry and that's all that matters.
Got some of Dianne's Fave bikkies to take tomorrow. We both have the same two faves when it comes to brought bikkies, Lemon treats and Kingston Creams.
I got more food for Madam than I did myself again lol.. but there now should be enough to keep her going if I have an extended time in Hospital again.. I dont plan on it being 3 weeks again.
Time for meds and do my games
And the good news is I have enough to shout the pies tomorrow and save a bit so Im a happy bunny lol.
I was coming out of pak n save and a stupid woman was backing out of the disabled carparks and nearly knocked an older woman down. But then she got out and started abusing her for not being on the footpath.. I didn't see it happen but was there when she got out of the car. I told her when there is no footpath its up to both parties to stop but more so her cos she was driving. I walked the lady to her car, put her stuff in the boot. Had a wee chat, she had a friend knocked down last week and is still in hospital. So I told her to go home and have a nice drink and I put her trolley away for her. all 3 of us legally able to park in the disabled part but there weren't any empty at the time.

Good for you Popeye, you probably made that woman's day.
Took Madame le Dog for obligatory walk & wasn't too tired when we got back so did a bit more on the ivy...with 'assistance' from Madame le Cat, who decided to perch on the fence in amongst the ivy...

morning ladies The rain is coming
I'd take the lappy back too, it's not good enough. We've had Acer computers since day dot and not one issue. Well done, helping that lady.
MrK's personal care should be extended another six weeks, the District Nurse is putting the paperwork through. He has been walking his 'laps' and helping where and when he can.
Housework for me this morning, not that there is much to do but the floor needs a good going over. You can always tell where I sit lol with bits of thread on the floor.
The Furry One is up and giving me 'the look'. Garden rounds I think lol.

Good morning everyone
Wet here but not cold.
I did a lot of homework online last night.. Ill be going for a Chromebook. I dont need all the bells and whistles, just something to do my chatting and games on.
I wont come home with an HP.. The one Im using now has ben good but the last 6months or so its been temperamental to say the least.
And if they wont give me a Lenovo or acer Chromebook then Ill take my money elsewhere. Their choice.
Off to see Dianne today. Its been a while. So there will be lots of laughs for sure. My time to shout lunch they have not been letting me shout lol. So she has told me what flavour pies they eat.
I need to get moving again I've put 4 kilos on lol.. and I know its cos I've been lazy lol..
Have a fab day all stay dry, I will get wet climbing Dianne's stairs but I wont melt lol
They told me I couldn't, so I did.!!

I have flowers on my strawberries, some have pinked up so the bees have found them, but no edibles yet. The broccoli though and rainbow chard is going gangbusters.
I had fun yesterday, researching techniques for recolouring the felt hat, and finally decided on using a diluted and amended acrylic paint solution as the first trial. It seemed to work but needed overnight tine to dry so this morning as the kettle boiled I was poking and prodding to check if the colour was stable, and wouldn't come off as I wore it. Success! So another layer I think to even out any missed bits and then I can do the interior of the brim. Then, the fun stuff with the band and the decorations. I have a bunch of antique silk and velvet violets which might be a possibility, or a new bunch of soft lavender silk peonies which are a fabulous colour, or I could just make something myself - but I need the recolouring done and dusted first. So patience - not my strong suit - is required.
Meantime, my sweet Tatty cat has another episode of pain and loss of leg function and is hiding under the bed, sleeping it off I hope. I managed to get her to eat a few mouthfuls in the small hours when I heard her going to the litter box, but any attempt to lift her is met with too much distress. I wish the vets had been able to come up with a better diagnosis, but going on past episodes with a couple of days rest the symptoms will fade and she will come right. Not being able to help her is very hard, poor little girl.
