My Triumph was candy apple red, himself bought it after I told him an E type Jaq would be worth getting a driving licence for... Didn't work, I still hated driving a car. But two wheels? Very different story....

It was fun though, that sports car. Except for the need to have it tuned every few months, expensive fun...

Wet and miserable day in the South Waikato today. Need to venture out later to get groceries as the fridge is rather bare. That was a good score at the warehouse popeye, my daaughter got a pair of jeans there the other day for the princely sum of $1.97.
Pleased the furry one is doing well KM, the things we do for our furry friends.
Currently I'm knitting mice and balls to take to the SPCA for their kitties, Taupo branch put out a call for some on FB and as we are going to Taupo next Sunday for a couple of days, I'll drop them off then.

The eldest had a Triumph 1968 at one point & I came home one day to find that he'd brought it into his bedroom (No clue how) & was about to take it to pieces.

Until I mentioned how lovely it would look, painted pink.

I turned down a MGBGT when I was about 17.. Why? it was a convertible and Purple. In one way I wish I had got it tho cos MrP could have painted it for me. I had a Ford Angliar that was exactly 6 months older than I was , at the time.

Only one pair of pants didnt fit, they were too big lol.. But I looked at the prices, I got $305 for of pants for $39-76... I reckon they will keep me happy for a good long time.. The Jeans I will shorten as I begin to wear them. they are slightly the wide leg ones, but hopefully shortening to fit this Shrinking in height woman they will look ok.. I can run the seams in if I dont like them anyway.

The two dresses fit nicely too..

I took out all my heavy winter clothes and hung them on the clothing rack I've had for years and only used a couple of times at markets, and moved that into the spare room. Including the thicker scarves. Left the light ones Just in case.

I didn't need to look for a black cardy, I have two light jackets that were Mums (dis Mum for the newbies) that I forgot I had. So I will get a cardy next year.

I wont be looking at clothes now for quite a while. Cos once my surgery is done I will have plenty of sizes to shrink down into too.

But I have room to move the clothes now to see what I have.

Had to wash a part of my red and white blanket, herself Madam puked on it.. Thankfully it only hit two squares, had to be on the white tho. So I spot washed and have it hanging over the machine into the tub. It was fresh so easy enough to get out.

I have only ever liked two cars... a neighbours E type, and the little 60s Fiat bubble car we had in Taupo in the 70s. It was a honey of a car that one...

Great idea re the spring onions, I use a lot so I chop them up and freeze them, then throw the bottom bits away, even with my total lack of gardening skills, I could manage that, good news about the furry one.

I used to buy those little mice from cat shows, I used to think how patient someone was to do them, when I got them home I would put them in a zip lock bag with dried catnip, after a couple of weeks the cat got one, they went crazy with them

Great score with your clothes. Many years ago a boss of mine had a british racing green MG, I loved it, he was 6ft 8ins, it was amazing watching him fold himself into it
My first car was a 850cc powder blue mini, I loved that car.

It must be the season for splotchy bed  covers, Iast week I put one on the spare bed, the animals promptly jumped on the bed and spent the afternoon on the clean cover. I love the colours of yours.

Busy couple of days, yesterday the pet food order arrived, 60kgs to be bagged up, and put in the freezer, the freezer had to be cleaned as well.  Will pickup the rest from a supplier in Tuakau in a couple of weeks.
Did the washing and the wire snapped in the line, I do not know how many  times I have replaced it, they do not last.
This morning made a dozen meat pasties and a batch of gingernuts, lucky brother got half a dozen. The SIL wanted some help with her phone, all sorted but it took a couple of hours.
Came home lit the fire, all the animals think it is for them, then sat down for a well earned cuppa, or at least I thought it was well earned.

The Furry One has discovered one of the neighbour's cats is up a tree. Better go bring him in so the cat can escape.

You have to ride in an old one, the new ones, in my eyes, are not mini,s. I am I Mangere Bridge, but have been getting food from Tuakau since the owners have been there, they were in Avondale prior to Tuakau, apparently the building was terrible when they took over, it has to be human food standard as they export.

I got my license in that car, had done the written and passed, then you had to book to do the practical, we are talking over sixty years ago, to my horror I could not sit it until the New year, NZ closed down for nearly four weeks at Xmas back then.
You would have thought someone had died, I was beside myself, we had already decided we were doing a road trip up north in the new car, went to work and told my boss, he said no worries I will get the local cop I. And it will be sorted. You can take the morry to sit it in.
I worked at a winery, the Morrie minor was used to drive up and down the vines, beer crate for a passenger seat,  it would. not have been warranted, license day arrives and I think blow this I will take my license in the mini, drive it to work, said officeer turns up and says where is the Morrie, I answer we are going in the Mini, he says who owns it, me, I do, him,  how did it get here, me I drove it, as the words came out of my mouth I realized what that meant, needless to say I passed and we had a great time in Northland

I spent a lazy hour doom scrolling through the art deco and retro kitchenware listings on TM last night - looking for a replacement for my favourite vegie peeler and spotted several beaters popeye, if you don't have any luck with your op shop hunts...

Minis are surprisingly easy to get in and out of. I had a Scottish uncle who drove one, he was 6ft 10... Watching him fold himself in and out of it was like watching a stick insect in a matchbox!

lol GJW, I also sat my licence in my mini. The officer asked me to do a three point turn... I looked at him and said, in this? He shrugged and said, never mind lol. OMG I loved that car, so easy to park. And you are right, you have to drive the older minis. These new BMW minis aren't minis at all.

morning ladies A sunny start to the day is always welcome after the rain we have had

Vegie peelers are the biggest PITA. They have to be the speed peelers as the they are the only peelers that work for me. Knives and peelers have blades the wrong way round. MrK asked me the other day what I wanted for Christmas, and I said lefthanded knives. Am over never being able to cut in a straight line and at my age, I should be able to finally have things I can use properly. Now I have to find where I can buy some.

The plan this morning is to weed (no surprises there lol) a bit more. Our deep pink magnolia is looking stunning and really likes not being crowded in by the tree that fell over. Magnolia 'Butterflies' will flower a little later in the season.
When the lawnmowing guy comes this week, I'll ask him about moving the last of the concrete pieces. If he can't do it, then he may know someone who can. There is no way we can get a tractor in to where they are so it will have to be a manual, hands-on job. Once they have gone, I can move the small pile of clay to fill in a hole the Furry One dug to get under the house (blimmen rabbits lol) and then riverstone the rest of the garden there. Some big pots and jobs done.

My peeler is over fifty years old and it fits my hand so I want another in case this one dies...

For those who know Taupo, part of my driving test was an uphill stop and start on the road down to Cherry Island... I was using a 49cc Yamaha scooter, the cop was on a BMW. Rotten sod. But I passed, and moved up to 400cc in short order after a woman in a Toyota ran over the scooter. With me on it.

Morning everyone

Have a happy girl, the sun is out. Washing is on.

I learnt to drive in my November 1964 Anglia. I Loved that car. I was Lucky cos the cop that took me was new to Pukekohe, and had never been to Waiuku. He took me up Norfolk rise for my hill start, its a slope. I did my 3 point turn up there, its wide as lol.. The road to do a hill start on is Glebe Place which isn't far from where I am now. Its Short and steep. I wouldn't want to be doing it in an manual. but I probably could. The one I learnt to do it on was just as short and sharp.

not sure if I have said before, but my first driving lesson, my stepfather got into the car with a sledge hammer. He said it was to stop me laughing. He drove up around the corner and stopped. We swapped over, but when I got into the front seat the back of it fell off... Well we both laughed, BUT the sledge hammer held the back of the seat up and we carried on. I passed first shot too the only one in our family to do so.

Yes I've been watching egg beaters on TM. I like the U type peelers. But I keep normal ones, simply cos when my Brother and sister in law used to visit she couldn't use the U type ones lol Don't suppose I need them now cos Cliffie doesn't drive and Cindy wouldn't without him being with her.. she thinks I live in a city lol

I put the Sound of music on last night to sing along too.. To Madams disgust of course. But she kept coming back to the warm spot lol... I was painting. Finished the second panel and now starting on the Roses.

Will finally vacuum today and then once the games are done Ill paint again. Need to push myself cos I want to do Dianne's picture.

Ill put the towels out first tho.
