Actually, popeye, a 'grease and oil' change for joints might be available in the future. I saw on the telly a few weeks ago where scientists are testing some plant that can be injected into joints to replace the cortisone. They are hoping in time we will no longer need joint replacements. How very cool will that be! An injection into the joint, the gooey stuff settles around the joints and bingo, a few weeks later you are well again.
Must look up that Spanish word... I am hoping it's a new swear word Idiot lol, I love it!!!

Its called A Good baking Day.. It has a blue metal tea pot huge on the front with a blue and white tartan Table cloth and a bale of hay.
Its 500 recipes from the kitchens of rural Women New Zealand
Idealy I would like two copies.
There is one on TM but it looks like it's going to be an expensive buy. Obviously some good bakers want a copy!
That one I did see Hunnie. There were a couple, two weeks ago both over $100..
Thinking of contacting my Aunt who has been involved with Rural Women for donkeys' years.
Also need to look up that word lol
Hopefully they hurry KM
Hahaha another word for Gilipollas is Dickheads lol
They told me I couldn't, so I did.!!

I went shopping this afternoon, down to Narrowneck Beach. Along the seawall there is a long dumping ground for driftwood pieces, and I knew I would find what I needed there, among the rocks and broken shells and dead pigeons, and sure enough a few flat lengths to sparate water from growing mix, and a big chunky one to shape as a side pieces and a handful of thin curly ones to suggest roots. Cheap too, just a good bit of bending and sliding in soft sand and a definite wind blown hair restyle. So lovely at high tide with wind and waves, even on this tempestuous day, the ozone has improved my mood no end...

Thanks I hadn't thought about contacting Rural Women themselves..
Sounds like you had fun Hunnie. Reminds me that I need to take MrP down to the coast. Just wont be this week. Busy 4 days in a row. and I wont take him down on a weekend incase I bump into people.
I've done my games... Wonder why I do them now. I didn't get any done in the event yesterday. I did try them. But I still got in the top 50. Might have been cos I tried, not sure but it just sounds stupid when I didn't get any right

Morning all
Overcast nippy
Slow start this morning still on winter time.
The gardeners dropped off some soil for DH so he can resow part of the lawn that died back due to being so wet. They would normally do it but DH does like a nice lawn so he wants to be in charge. We have the seed and fertilizer.
Lazy day nothing planned other than to do a bit more sewing ater
Enjoy your day

Morning everyone
Tad chilly here but the sun is out. Sort of lol
Dishes this morning and Ill put some rice on. Not having it for breakfast is weird. I treated myself to toast and jam. And while different and nice its not what my tummy wants lol
Have bottles to bring in later, Ill do it through the window and limit it to 2 bottles at a time. My thumb is already spore enough.. Found the glucosamine yesterday hopefully that will kick in cos my left hand is becoming very week. Need to find the stress ball as well.
Ohh I found some yummy recipes in my new books. Ill find space for those too. One which my darling Stepfather would love, it has dark and white chocolates peanut butter all in a sweet pasty case.. Well I think he would handle the peanut butter, I dont recall seeing him eat any as my mother never brought it.
He was the only one who would help me eat Jo Seagers Cameo cream cake. All it was, was cameo creams, chocolate and whipped cream.. Dangerous and I've not made it since he died heck so nearly 25 years. Should have made it when I was visiting the home so I didnt have to eat it all lol.
Have a fab day all... hope to paint later.

Morning Everyone
Hope all is ok with KM.
Off to housie today. Im looking forward to it.
I enjoy being with the ladies and one occasional man.. I could say one will be missing as her mum died a few days ago, 2 days off 92. She was in the rest home. But knowing her Daughter , unless family is there she will rock up Im sure.
Where the heck did September go? time is flying by. Mind you I guess having things to do kind of makes you look forward and forget the date. 4 days this week Ill be busy.
Have a wonderful day everyone.

Feeling slightly virtuous; finally tackled the really huge folder which had paintings, charcoals & pastels & prints in, going back to about 2008. Haven't counted but probably close to around a hundred pieces.
I managed to chuck out around ten. Not great but not too bad for a start - once I get the workroom table cleared a bit I'll go through them again.
Cold here with rain on & off so Madame le Cat has been in & out.
Sad to hear that Nigal Latta died this morning; he was funny & made very good sense.

I remember finding his assurance that teenagers were mentally ill because of the chemical onslaught they go through, immensely reassuring. He was too young though...
As for the decluttering of our past work, I recently dropped off a big bag of small pieces to thelocal hospice shop, and they were delighted. Apparently original art work is quite sought after, so that was worth the effort.

Just read about Nigel Latta. So young 58 is too young for such a funny but wise man.
Well I was right, Janice would have gone to housie but Erin told her its her mothers funeral today she should be with family. She is slightly mentally and physically disabled and is very much about herself. She is also old enough to go into the rest home, where MrP got kicked out of. Cos each time she visited her mother it was like the manager was eyeing her up.
I won 3 lines. 3 houses and two raffles.. Soo there are 6 mini fish, 3 big choccie fish and two big bars of chocolate lol. Seldom I win a raffle but the first time I've won two in my choccie stash lol.
Something is annoying my knee. Im back on my walking stick. So I've doped up and got deep heat and a hottie on it. Want it better by morning.
The sun is out and although chilly its a nice day

5-32 am and too dark to see.
Off to my Pre-Op check today.. Hopefully it wont be too long, but with the big strike looming a little after would be good.
Cos I think the Strike is needed..
Ok so the Aussies won.. but someone has to come second. Was good to see Cricket so early in the year.
Hope all is ok with KM...

morning ladies Fingers crossed for little or no rain today.
It's been a horrific last three days with MrK having a fall on each day. His knees are pretty much trying to do what his hip does and support his leg, but your body can only cope with so much. No injuries thank goodness, but an ambulance visit each time to have him lifted up. The first time he thought he'd be OK and could walk again using his walker. It was late, so no respite care from our medical center anyway. Second time, it was an ED visit with the hope some help could be put in place. Two hours waiting in the ED (We were lucky, some had been there over 6 hours) and a nurse trying to give him meds he shouldn't have (I queried it just in time, overworked and understaffed, this was proof they need help!) he had a bed in the short stay unit and sent home the next day after the physio saw he could hobble his way to the loo. Yesterday the stars aligned when he had his fall. Most undignified as it was in the loo, but hey, we can't choose where we fall. The day before I had received a text from our GP confirming the cancer is melanoma and to text back if we need help. Perfect, says the ambos. Text her back. By the time we got to the Medical Center, she had arranged a bed for respite care and was trying to bypass oncology at Waikato by saying he was an 'acute case' and maybe, the respite care time could be used this way. That didn't work, it was a firm no, from them. So MrK has a week of respite care with possibly another week added on to give us a breather. Physio and more personal care along with some new toys will hopefully be arranged so it is safe for him to come home. I'm also organising a St John's alarm for him. It's been madness with my phone pinging and ringing from family and now, suddenly, they decide they need to visit. He's in a local resthome/hospital and the staff are lovely. Food is nice and I know he is safe. The best thing about local is no trips to Waikato. So that's been my past few days. Hopefully I'll have a day with no crying. It's blo**y awful hearing him in pain. I had an appointment with WINZ yesterday to find out what's what and the young woman was very helpful. At least that was something I could take charge of and control.
The Furry One is barking, the kids next door are outside playing, I think. So good seeing kids outside this early.
Have a good one
