You can never have enough...
I hope the difficult days start to ease off now KM, it's often the way of things, a bit of worse after bad then the load lightens. Just as well you have spine. I'm glad about the alarm thing, I got mine after the pulmonary embolism when I understood how dicey that was and it has been a big security blanket for me, though so far I haven't had to use it - beyond two accidental alerts, lol. Those though did show me how easy it was to use and how efficient the St Johns staffers are.

I am hoping the clear weather holds this morning so I can do a library and supermarket run. It was a bit doubtful yesterday so I missed my Wednesday outing, and I need vegies. And chocolate, lol.

Fingers crossed here too for some peace and quiet...

Shortly after I posted that there was a bang on the door, and it turns out despite the building assessor declaring my roof was fine.... a roofing team had been organised. They got on the roof, something the assessor hadn't bothered to do, and they found three potential leak sites and fixed them. You know the best bit though, the big guy in charge was full of banter and great fun to have interrupting my morning sleep in. He can come back any time, a good laugh shared is a great way to start the day. As is knowing I can now safely use that cupboard without worry...

That's awesome, OHH Smile And yes, a laugh can lighten the load that's for sure.

Nope, it's not the neighbour's kids the Furry One is barking at. Whatever was under the house the other day, is back. And of course, it's where I can't get to it.

Another world treasure has gone Sad Jane Goodall died today. May she RIP

Overcast rain eminent

Oh KM you and MrKM have had a turbulent time. Good Mr K can get respite care locally. Cyber hugs to you and the Furry one.

OHH great your roof got checked and the necessary repairs done. Nice trades people always a bonus.

We spent a few hours away form home yesterday due to the scheduled power outage which there was no indication that our power had been off ie no clocks to reset. Never mind we had morning tea at gluten free cafe I got my cream filled donut and DH enjoyed a lovely boysenberry  muffin that was in his words the real thing not tasting of premix cake mix the amount of berries was very generous. The chef came out to chat as DH wanted to compliment  her on her creations he is not GF but because I am gets to eat that way and not all gf stuff is created equal.
We took k9 with us but it started to rain so we went to Lower Mall and DH bought some new grey jeans he has lost a bit of weight and needs smaller trousers.

Warehouse for me today and grocery shop this afternoon

Enjoy your day

A while back I downloaded the New World app and discovered the special offers they do every now and then with their New World dollars . If you use New World, and haven't done the app thing, consider getting it and keep an eye on it, because those offers are a great way to boost your New World dollar balance. In the past fortnight my little Christmas stash has gone up by over $40 without much effort. Almost makes up for their high prices...

Almost.

That's hard for you both KM, but at least its a little better now & I hope it remains so. The respite care will help give both of you a bit of a break.

Jane Goodall has died - first Nigel Latta, then Jane Goodall. Dammit, they die but the Trump creature & Putin still live.

Hunni, that bloke sounds like good value - did you let him get way...?

You would have laughed... I opened the door in my jammies, and said 'okay, what can I do for you?' And he replied, 'I am here to ravish you m'dear!' To which I instantly repled 'Thank god for that then, come in...' and we both cracked up.

And, as he left he apologised for running out of time for the ravishing bit...

Made my day that did.

Well home done and dusted.

No date yet but it wont be terribly Long.. My surgeon is retiring in the next year or so, so Im glad to have him this time.

I've put weight on, which I knew but I'm quite cross at myself. So I need to work hard and get it back down again.. The trouble with being able to buy more food lol.

Oh KM you certainly have had a run of it. a couple of words from experience.. Get an alarm for you too.. It works out cheaper when you get both and WINZ pays for them.
And cos you have them you can use them for medical calls too not just accidents. Its worth it just for that.

And as the lady who organized said and the ladies that do maintenance checks if you think someone is outside or scarring you press the button. the alarm sound is Really loud and it will scare them off... You may have to train the Furry one around it. Cos it puts the smoke alarm volume to shame. And if using as a warning they are quite happy that you use it, and when they call you can tell them that and they will be fine.

Glad MrK is having respite which means you can to. MrP refused to do it.

Wow Hunnie, Id have been happy with a cheeky visitor like that. A bit of fun really makes ya day.. So pleased the roof is fixed. Long may it stay that way.

Mica some people haven't the foggiest notion about GF eh.. Glad you enjoyed what you had tho.

We had LFT (KFC) on the way home and I have a piece for my tea. Don't think we are getting it tomorrow lol.. Cos Im not sure if the Taxi driver would stop lol.

My knee is annoyed but coping. Ill top up the pain meds shortly.

Not often you meet someone that brilliant &  funny.

My day took a bit of an unexpected turn, third eldest granddaughter & their two lovely wee ones turned up. Those kids are growing so fast they'll be taller than me any minute & the eldest (just turned two) can even say great gran. It was lovely to see them & saved me from having to do more diggind outside, so win win.

Morning everyone

5-32 am and still dark. lol.. not cold however.

Back at the super clinic today for Dianne's Chemo.. This time neither of us drive so we can take in all the new builds etc.

Its amazing how fast those box houses go up. I remember seeing them on tv when they started making the State houses and people said they were boxes.. Well these ones really are. and multiple stories of them. Some are so close to the motorway that people are getting int to graffiti them already.

Shouldnt be a late day. Which will please Madam. She seems more resigned today so that is a relief for me.

Have a fab day all

morning ladies Smile It's pretty wet out there today but so warm. I bet the sheep farmers are going to start worrying about facial excemea. (sp)

MrK had a better night last night. Yesterday morning I had a phone call from him. 'I hate this blo**y mattress' lol. I said to him you might need to give it another night, the first night is always the worst. Nope, he went on and on lol. Our GP visited him, and he told her, and she suggested the same thing. OMG, he was like a little lamb and agreed with her lol. She is putting a referral through for radiation to help keep the swelling down on his arm and has found a new biopsy test they can do which will dictate whether an even better medication can be used. She is so proactive! MrK's nephew and his wife were there while our GP was visiting. Perfect timing as she is a prescription pharmacist and could explain all the drugs to mrK. I think even our GP learned a few new things lol and offered her a job lol. By explaining more about the drugs, mrK seemed to settle a lot more. Knowledge is definitely power!

Two of MrK's sisters are visiting today, they are calling in here first, and I will either take them, or they can follow me. I have a few more things to take up, his shaver and the like and that is all packed. The Furry One was barking again at whatever is under the house but stopped when I told him to 'leave it'. Damed amazing he had his ears on lol.

While I'm waiting for my sisters-in-law I might make up a small embroidery pack as a 'go-to' thing to take with me for MrK's visits to hospital. It will keep my hands and mind busy while MrK does his thing.

Have a good one Smile

Been raining sky brightening up.

Your GP sounds like a proactive medic KM good idea to have the travel embroidery project ready.

Another morning at warehouse for me covering for the woman who will cover for me next Thursday.

Bought home woollen blanket yesterday that had small hole appliqued a dog over it both sides even if I do say so myself it looks cute and the blanket will keep a baby warm. Also stitched  the head back on a cute bunny stuffed toy.

If its raining this afternoon we might visit the Bata factory shop if not I will be in the sewing  cave finishing my jean jacket.

Enjoy your day

Another day of chemo done and over with. We found out today her last day will be February 13th, BUT one of the due days is Boxing day so I guess that will get messed up.

Then she has to wait a month before they start the radiation.

OMG KM that reminded me of MrP moaning about beds. trust me you learn to ignore things in the end. Handy having a wise woman when it comes to meds etc.

Di's Hubby got us both today, He said he Saw Mocha ( A carer from the home ) in the shop and she said Colleen was back she wouldn't stop yelling and screaming, I said OMG, I didn't catch what Di said, then he said Got Ya and took off down the stairs lol Cheeky bugger but he's also a gentleman putting Di's car out of the way to make it easier for me to turn around and go. They are a perfect couple in their kindness and forward thinking. But I also wouldn't want to cross her Hubby cos he would put up a good fight. Even at 66.

Was bucketing down when I came home.. Glad I replaced my fold up brolly. I keep it beside my seat and can pop it up and get out of the car dry.

Their Dog is left handed. She slides the ranch slider open using her left paw, not on the handle but she puts her claw into the rubber around the window and slides it open.. Always with her left paw.

Was funny we always have Indian taxi drivers, and we tell them where the speed cameras are, but today one of the new trailer sort cameras was only minutes from Di's Place so we warned the return driver lol..

I sure as heck wont be going out to the garage sale tomorrow if its hosing down like this.

morning ladies Smile It looks pretty grey and bleak out there. A little bit of sunshine would be nice.

This morning I have a few pairs of socks to take to MrK. Apparently, I didn't pack socks. Yes, I did. But MrK is adamant I haven't. I suspect these little things are his way of making sure I visit every day. As if I wouldn't visit. Last night on the phone he admitted how dire things are for him has finally hit home. I told him I would be with him every step of the way, regardless of the outcome. Yesterday Waikato Hosp phoned about him having his biopsy. Ummm... we've done that, and the results are in. She asked which oncologist did it, and I explained how we kinda bucked the system a tad. So, things are moving, and we may not need to go private for the initial consultation if things keep going. He is very wobbly on his legs, my big concern is falls. But our GP has said not to panic over that yet.

Late yesterday afternoon the oven was finally cleaned. It's the first time I've had to take the glass out of the door. It was pretty straight forward and makes it so much easier to clean. This morning all the white work and kitchen cupboards are getting a good going over. Can you tell I'm stressed lol, if I can't get into the garden to dig, I clean to work off the stress.

The Furry One is back to eating, he had stopped, and this was a worry as his meds are hidden in his food. Thank goodness for left over roast chook lol. He can't resist it.

Time to face the day as best I can.

Have a good one Smile

I clean too when under pressure, which might explain why there is so much dust in this little flat. These days there is very little stress, except the stuff I take on board unnecessarily. And silly stuff, like the non appearance of the shampoo bar I bought three weeks ago, very irritating. It is the second purchase from this little Christchurch start up and the first went really well, but this one, not so much. Never mind, it will or won't appear - meantime NZBulbs have packed my double order of calla lily bulbs and the courier has them so next week I will have the pleasure of finding two big pots and planting those up to go near our front doors, replacing the tulips which have now finished for the year and are ready to be retired to a quiet corner to feed and swell and dry off. The callas will be fun, I ordered random colours so each one will be a surprise and the combination something to look forward to...
