morning ladies I think the weather is begining to improve, it's not cold, that's for sure.

Thanks for asking, popeye. But I'm OK. I have the odd teary moment, there is still a lot to take in. The waiting to see the oncologist is the hardest part. Once we have a plan in place, we can get on with whatever is being thrown at us next. I will admit to beginning to enjoy my 'alone' time This has helped settle MrK as it was one of his biggest worries.

Today I need to take the recycling into the transfer station. I'll do that and buy some seed spuds after visiting MrK. The seed spuds will need to be sprouted a bit more, but I've found the perfect place for that. Our local garden center sells seed spuds individually for 90cents each. I think this year, we'll have a variety of types, maybe one of each sort. The spring bulbs in pots can be moved to the back of the garden now to finish off for the season. I think the Amarylis lily seeds I planted have sprouted. I can't be sure as they look like teeny blades of grass to start with, but I have my fingers crossed. And the BBQ needs a thorough clean and the old gas bottles disposed of. I'll need to find out where and how to dispose of them. Someone at Mitre 10 should know. If not, I'll ask at the scrap metal dealers when in Hamilton next. Always something to do. And as I said to MrK, this is stuff that needs doing regardless of his health.

Time to get moving, the washing machine has finished and the Furry One is nagging to do the garden rounds

Has anyone here had any experience of the Anglesea Emergency Clinic in Hamilton?   I ask because my husband is unwell (prostate cancer and post-op needs) and is likely to need medical attention outside of normal hours.   Our local medical centre's emergency clinic has limited hours and usually a waiting time of several hours.   Our experiences of Waikato Hospital's ED have been horrendous (and our neighbour a few days ago in agony from a back injury waited there ALL night).

The Anglesea Clinic's fee is $140, which I would happily pay for the sake of timely care.

Yep Im into the in-between Nightie lol. Autumn and Spring. And its now 27 years old. Wayy to big but its soft and snuggly and has instant memories lol

Its neat when you find a shot of new colour eh KM.. Im going to go out and look around the fruit trees later.

Ohh The 3 of us with passionfruit plants all have sticks lol. Im not pulling mine out tho, they may come back like the Hydrangea did .

Managed to find the Straight jacket for my wrist. And it helps, but not so much when you type.

Good grief! "Unalive' & "self murder' are both new to me & I don't like either of them.

But then, I also have an aversion to the now common (& imo, idiotic) 'passed', 'passed on', 'passed away' 'passed over', & have no intention of doing any of those.

I will instead,cark it,snuff it,fall off the perch,pop my clogs, die. Dead. As a dodo.
And I intend to come back & haunt any of the whanau claiming I've 'passed'...

Olive, I'm not of use, being in the south but I hope all goes well with Mr Olive, & I feel very bad that anyone in pain or any kind of illness could have to pay that just to get the medical attention they desperately need. Imo, allowing people to suffer in order to impose a privatised health system, in order to enrich some, is nothing short of evil.
And I think Hunni's right, a random visit might be the way to go.

KM,I've found the way for me to get through tough times is put one foot in front of the other, & just keep going.

omg I just found your wall display, OHH. I am so sorry I missed seeing it before. It's gorgeous and what a joy to see it each day.

We have never used the Anglesea clinic as an ED, Olive, so can't help you there. But the ED at Waikato is triaged, so the sicker you are, the quicker you should be seen. It's not done on a first-in, first-served basis. I am also sorry MrO is unwell. MrK has also fought the prostate cancer battle and won. The nicking of his bowel by the radiation was another story all together.

The BBQ is only good for scrap. I'll talk to MrK about me dismantling it and taking it for scrap metal. At least I won't have to clean it

We - the three neighbours who socialise - were chatting the other day about summer and barbecues, and we decided we were each too lazy to bother, despite me having an easy little charcoal one we could use. Then we hit upon the idea of a build your own hamburger night, using an electric frypan (we have power close to our outdoor space) to do the patties and eggs if anyone wanted those. So that is definitely on the calendar as soon as the weather stabilises, should be fun!

As for my butterfly wall, it is surprising what a roll of retired Sanderson wallpaper can start. Since putting it up - glue taped up under the sliding door pelmet - I have never got bored with it, and adding more bugs to that lovely design has made it even more fun. My friends keep their eyes open for bug stickers, lol. A tiny space needs a bit of frivolous decoration!

Missy likes the floor here too Hunnie.. But also for skidding around the corner.. he seems to have a wee devilish speed freak mode in her. 

Then today she's been curled up between my knees when I have been sitting. And sitting on the bench, which I cover, I have relented in my old age, when Im working in the kitchen. I Absolutely Hate seeing cats on benches, my mother let hers all over the kitchen benches. But I put a towel on mine and she stays where she is allowed. 

Im looking forward to being outside painting when the weather settles, and Dianne and I have both got our bodies in order. I need to get some new paint brushes.. Mainly cos Im not sure where mine ended up, and I really dont want to look out in the back shed cos there are cockroaches out there lol. 

So Ill do a MrP and get some new ones.. The paint thankfully is in the laundry. 

Im not really a BBQ person.. since you can just as easy cook it in a pan inside... Lol  says she who seldom spends time outside again. lol. 

Sorry to hear about your hubby Olive. As nuts as this sounds, send hubby by ambulance, they are seen faster than those who take themselves in.

Our last house was wooden floored on piles on an elevated site. While we were there I put Expol insulation under the floor which helped us to warm the place, with a heat pump, but the real benefit became apparent when our elderly rescue cat changed from perching on the sofa or chair backs to relaxing on the carpet. 

As I've heard said "cats don't like people so much as they like houses". Demanding creatures that they are who home in on the sunny spots or logfire warmth.

Our Previous girl cat Millie used to try and get under the pot belly stove.

Her fur singed once and we ended up putting a guard around the pot belly to keep her away from it.

Oddly the singing didn't seem to bother her. She obviously didn't feel or smell anything. It stunk lol

Popeye, ambulances don't always take precedence at the Waikato ED An ambulance officer told us this on one of MrK's recent call outs. They have them stacked up just like the waiting area. It's all triaged on whoever needs the help the most and sadly, that may not be the ambulance. Staff are aware ambulances need to get back 'out there' but they are stymied by lack of staff. MrK waited two hours the other week, but others had been there over six hours. The nurse who triaged him said it was all about need.

A report on elderly care in rest homes is about to be released in Parliament. There is nothing in the report we don't already know. I doubt the government will do much though. After all, didn't Luxon once say he 'was sorted'.

There was no point cleaning the BBQ, it has rusted in places so I'm going to dismantle it and sell it for scrap. MrK agrees so when the weather clears, I'll make a start. I'll be a bit slower than he would be but that's OK. No hurry. I'll start by taking in all the innards and racks along with some other scrap metal in the pump shed. And I'll need to find the CRC to spray some of the bolts. I also need to find a box to put some truck mechanical manuals in so they can be given away. Our local automotive engineer said he can use them. I'm finding it hard to be motivated. It's nothing MrK and I haven't talked about doing over the winter months, long before all of this. It's that bl**dy waiting time, or limbo, not knowing what's what.

Back to see MrK today and fingers crossed I catch our GP this time. We (I) wrote some questions for MrK to ask her if I'm not there. I have an appointment to see her next week anyway.

Our felines certainly know all the good spots your two look so comfy harmless.
The ED and ambulance under alot of pressure I bet our PM wouldn't like it if the ambulance took 8 hours to get to him cause he wasn't top priority.

Returned home yesterday the flight time was hour shorter due to strong tail wind.
DD and I had a great time  back to normal routine this week.  Got tumultuous welcome from the k9 even the feline lined up to greet - unconditional love

School run done and only a few spits but very muggy ... rain maybe later. 

A busy weekend ... time with GD, gardening and beach walks. The high tides are hitting the dunes currently which means some scrambling up (vertical sides) at times to avoid the waves!

Yes, love to see the feline pics ... I do miss my boy. 

Olive, I had an extended family member work in Anglesea (admin) probably 10 years ago now, maybe more.  I used to meet up with her for breaks. Back then it was a nice enough place and never too many in the waiting room but the beginnings of staffing issues were starting to show (she used to be pulling her hair out in frustration). I expect it's a whole different scenario now especially with the wait times nowadays. Good idea to observe for yourself if able. Good luck with Mr O's situation.

KM your dealing with M K's tools etc is a reminder to me that Mr R has a huge collection built up over a lifetime ... most seemed to find its way here after "downsizing" from farm life 

Nothing planned today ... I might get to the library. Cardi back nearly finished now I'm in the rhythm of the pattern.

Morning everyone.

Its wet but not cold that's for sure.

The waiting times are terrible at hospitals etc. I do feel sorry for the staff. Its not their faults but they are the ones at the Coal face. .
MrP was a terrible patient with absolutely zero patience. He always believed he should be first everywhere.

Love seeing all our Furry Family members. I dont think I could ever live without an animal of some sort. But I will be having a break when Missy goes, so I can do some travelling before Im ready to settle down again. I have parts of the country , and friends and family to see. But I absolutely hate leaving her at home.. Im already dreading my hospital stay, cos I certainly dont want it to end up as long as my knee took.

I fancy having a bird again.. but I cant whistle like I used to.. I've always been successful at training birds to talk and whistle.. Much to MrPs disgust.. The last cockatiel could wolf whistle in 3 different ways cos I had taught him and he had a very loud level of whistling lol.. Used to annoy the heck out of MrP lol.

No plans for the day other than painting. I must get another one out and pressing.

Oh and I will glue my candle stick holder. Now that I managed to get the blue tak off it.. that was a mistake lol.
