I'd argue the problem was in having a dog; they like to chew everything to bits.

Or a cat who thinks these things we have are actually heat pads...

Nope, I've had lots of dogs over the years and known many more that I have walked, in my experience only certain dogs and in particular certain breeds like to chew stuff and of those many were bored and not walked enough. Dogs love to be part of the tribe and participate fully in family activities all they can, they get bored and get up to mischief when not included in the family group, which to me is the whole point of having a creature to stay with you that will also give warnings and often protect the children.

Not quite accurate in how he explains the "Lithium contacting the air" as the battery contains lithium salts, not lithium metal. As he worked the knife into the battery he caused short circuiting which resulted in thermal runaway.

Hard to comment on that from a short clip and not the full video, but it seems a bit extreme for a "durability" test?

Not the kind of situation your phone would normally find itself in during daily use, I imagine

Stupid dog, I bet it was chewing on it! Ive heard similar stories where people have come home to a dead dog that had chewed on a power cord. Sad

Some dogs and cats do chew things, that dog was doing that.

My parents had a cocker spaniel that was really bad for chewing stuff. Some dogs grow out of it, others dont.
Where I used to work, our boss' dogs used to chew up all sorts of things including expensive computer parts and we would get in trouble for telling his dogs off so we let them to it!
