Don’t blame Police says Ardern!
#1
Ok, we’ll blame you then!

Heard the saying “the buck stops here” ?

Where are you by the way?
If it was a daily press briefing you would be front and centre!
MIA.

cunning as a shithouse rat
shes separating the govt from the police
she knows how this is going to end and wants no part of it.
she will be very elusive in the coming days.

many would have dug in deeper.
others would have picked a side
show leadership?
learned a lesson about opening trap too soon after christchurch shootings had to spend a few million in gun buybacks.
kneejerk reaction long term consequences.
she has sat on the fence for two weeks now washes her hands of any responsibility for the outcome.
shes had a whiff of the petition, and calls for the commissioners head
and made a hasty exit. stage left.

Maybe show a bit of leadership instead of hiding under her desk.

This is the woman who appointed Coster the Wokester.

So what? There have been heaps of appointments, you think she hires and fires everyone?

As for hiding, I think she has far too much on her plate to hide anywhere. But hey, no doubt some of us could do such a better job...

Cue rolling eyes...

police appointments arent political yet are they?
that aside, whats on her plate comes down to time management and delegation.
hiding, no, difficult to reach, yes.
and personally yes, i think a better job could have been done at her level to protect those businesses and schools, and residents.
if she found it unsafe to go out there then why wouldnt anyone else? her, her cabinet and the police left them high and dry.
i dont thinks its a punishable offence, but it is offensive.

I think a PM, no matter who, will always have too much on their plate, and has to delegate, manage, and ignore a lot of stuff simply to get through their day.

But we expect miracles, and when we don't get them we attack.

oh dear, im not attacking anyone.
i have admired her political guile.
i just feel that as PM she was in a position to better the outcome for many people,
rather than waiting to see which way the chips would fall.
why was she so visible in christchurch after the shooting, but mia for the last two weeks?

Whatever happens, the PM will cop the blame, because she's the PM. While it isn't a good situation, I think she's right to not communicate with the 'protesters'.

I don't think that would also be the right thing in other protests but this particular one has within it some who are definitely loony tunes to say the least; these are not reasonable people & therefore cannot be reasoned with. There's absolutely no point in any PM under these circumstances making themselves a target.

And as to why she was so visible in CHCH - I suspect that would be due to it having been the right thing to do at the time.

the blame for what? and she is absolutely right not to engage with the filthy morons.
ive said neither of those things.
i also agree the crowd is sinister in its intent and not reasonable people, so didnt say that either.

what i said was that the pm did nothing to protect those people forced to interact/live around parliament grounds. she has bodyguards and escorts. the kids getting on the bus dont, nor do those working in the area and those needing to use it as a thoroughfare.
for two weeks weve heard about the bullying, today for the first time i hear there is zero tolerance for it.
wtf
while the police were impotent i expected to see more empathy from the beehive towards them.
they were abandoned to deal with it themselves.. new orleans after katrina springs to mind.

Yep, agreed, but there will always be those who whatever the outcome will invariably blame the PM. And I also think that mistakes have been made with this situation - allowing this group to remain longer than 24 hours having been the first.

Lack of respect for police, the people that protect us is a Big No No. No doubt most of those people are not happy with their lives and as often the problem is not the real problem. Misdirected anger for not having their own shite together.
Was a funny sight seeing the 50kg women who threw something at police being grabbed by two burley cops like a rag doll.
Given up watching the news along time ago as too negative but have been tuning in for the protest entertainment.
